This is exactly what I needed to attach to the top of a Humidifier Flush device. The threads are the same top to bottom (MIP) and make the seal by contacting the rubber washer at the bottom of other piece. A tapered NPT fitting would pose a risk to split the plastic of the piece I was screwing this into. No leaks no problems. Just be sure this is what you need!

Common size for residential garden hoses. Ordered twice now. Simple., No rust. Don't waste your time at Lowe's or home depot, they don't carry it. This is a better price anyway.

Needed this for my water filter, which has a drain valve for each filter housing (have a triple 20†BB while house water filter). Since this will never be a high pressure setup, sealing them isn’t important. Just needed to use this and a hose to prevent splashing to a bucket.

"Male Thread" is NOT pipe thread (MNPT). Possibly it's the smaller British Standard Pipe Tapered (BSPT) which is very rare in the U.S.I can't use this. Discarded the pack - not worth returning for exchange / refund.Very annoying.

The barbed end is fine. The threaded end is poorly formed, as I used 5 wraps of teflon tape (as I have on numerous occasions) and the fittings still leaked through the threads. I knew they were different, as I could thread the barb all the way into the female fitting by hand until it bottomed out. If you plan to use this product, be sure to use a lot of teflon tape. Other 3/4" NPT fittings I have used start to tighten up long before bottoming out.
