It does the job. Instructions are poorly translated but it's pretty self explanatory so it's okay.I docked a star because it started smoking the first time I plugged it in. I was unable to find the source but it hasn't caused any further issues or smoked again so it's alright.Definitely keep an eye on it while it's plugged in though, don't leave it unattended.Make sure to check that all the wires are properly connected and the ground screw is tightened

Its a solder pot. Works well. Watch how you dress the cord so you don't catch and spill it. Have a tin can nearby for dross and a fan to pull fumes away. Cheap and good as it is, with extra cup and dross spatula, just buy already. Nothing to be on the fence about.

Just got it today, plugged it in and it started to get warm, so I assume it works. The insty are really lacking, more realistic are non-existent. I tried to figure out how to change out the pot in case I wish to use the spare pot couldn't figure it out. Before I use it, I'm going to check for the loose ground wire everyone is talking about. I have it a 3 because of the lack of instructions and I haven't used it yet. I will update this review after use.

This thing is a must have if you are doing any soldering projects that have multiple joints to do. I was getting so burned out on soldering connections one by one until i found this gem. I tossed a bar of solder in it and went to work knocking out a large project in a fraction of the time it would have taken.

The leaflet enclosed lists 4 models to which the one leaflet apparently applies:11C - 100W21C - 150W31C - 250W41C - 300WHowever, unlike the device depicted in the Amazon web page, there is no such indication anywhere on the device - just two indications ‘HT-A’ and ‘HT-B’ on the faceplate, which I assume to be models, with a red dot having been inked beside the ‘HT-B’.Further, the leaflet warns that the device is for 220VAC, 50 Hz (eg UK), although the plug is a standard 110VAC US grounded plugAlso, there is no indication that the design has been tested and certified by any US regulatory body or industrial standards organization.I plugged the device in, switched it on, the switch illuminated, and i could feel the solder pot heating. However, because of the lack of definitive indication on the device, as well as the confusion concerning the supply voltage for which the heating system is designed, I have absolutely no idea what actual wattage this device is, and whether it is suitable for my tasks.I feel certain the item I received had been delivered previously (although not used, apparently), and returned:1. The sticky side of the piece of adhesive tape used to close the bubble wrap bag wax folded over against itself.2. The twist-tie used to wrap the electric cable was loose in the bag3. The switch was in ‘On’ position4. There were fingerprints on the faceplateTherefore, rather than testing it with solder in it, and also risking electrocuting myself due to the lack of certification, I am returning it unused - just as the previous recipient evidently did!

I like the good construction of this solder pot. What I don't like: instructions are poor. There is no mention of how to change the solder pots. But wait:Change the solder pots by removing the bottom plate, then loosen the 2 screws being careful not to damage the heating coilss.
