I cart my heavy (over 100 lbs loaded from my car to the water. This cart works very well. I use the standard wheels. I think it is well worth the money.

Part of the pitch for this product is the kickstand. Well, a kickstand should be able to prop up whatever is sitting above it. The kickstand immediately folds away with the slightest bit of weight. It couldn't even handle my 36 pound kayak. When the kickstand folds away, the end of the boat simply falls to the ground. Strange. There is no way to tighten the kickstand. The pitch for this product also mentions easy assembly, so much so that you can break down the kayak cart and stow away the pieces in your kayak and just start kayaking. Well, the kayak cart parts are way too large to fit in the storage of my kayak. Also, the there are nuts with screws that hold the rails (which is what the kayak sits on) to the crossbeam (the main body of the cart) of the cart. Those nuts have to be placed in a deep recess, and are nearly impossible to place correctly. I had to use surgical hemostats. Probably the best part of the cart is the wheels. They are solid, and very grippy. That said, be prepared to clean those wheels every time you use them because EVERYTHING sticks to them.

If you decide to purchase this you'll want to make sure you spend the time to adjust the rails as necessary so that your kayak sits flat in its groves. If you don't do that and attempt to force / jam the boat into position the cart can come apart (I know because I made that mistake). Basically the rails need to be at right angles to the wheel axel or they can pop out of position with the weight of the boat. Also, you'll want to make sure the cam straps loop through the base and the rails (I did add some zip ties to help secure the connection but it isn't necessary). Once set-up properly, the cart worked great for me.

The C-Tug kayak cart came with favorable recommendations so, it went without saying that the new R model would likewise continue in this vein and be a reliable choice for my new Hobie PA 14 360 kayak. It seemed well built and assembly was without issue. However, in my case at least, it failed miserably. The bunks, which lock in place with two hooked tabs, could not handle either the weight of the Hobie. Or the non level terrain. Or both.I had roughly a 10 yard, semi wooded area to traverse to get to the water’s edge and the C-Tug couldn’t handle it. The bunks would come unlocked and fell off and even though the cart was strapped tightly to the kayak, the entire cart would dislodge from the kayak leaving my new Hobie literally grounded.Coming and going to and from the water required no less than 6 reassemblies and re-strapping of the cart to the kayak. Those 10 yards became a back breaking nightmare.Hence, the cart was immediately returned. Inadequate to say the least. On to Suspenz!

Easy to put together and use. Totes my loaded Hobie Outback over all kinds of ground, even sand.

This is another great product from Railblaza. I love that I don’t have to carry or drag my rigid foam raft around any more. It’s is literally a 4’ by 8’ piece of foam that is 6†thick with a durable coating on the outside. It weighs between 60-70 pounds and can be pretty cumbersome to lift and carry. The C-Tug weighs less than 9 pounds, yet can support over 200 pounds. The strap system securely locks my raft down to the cart, so it won’t come off or loosen up when being rolled over very rough and uneven surfaces. The C-Tug comes apart easily to fit in the hatches of most kayaks, but I leave it in one piece since my raft has no hatches. If you get one of these C-Tug kayak carts, which I recommend you do, try adjusting where you rest your vessel (kayak/canoe/paddle board etc) on. The balance point is different on most vessels, and it changes when you start adding accessories. You can basically place the cart under the vessel’s balance point and lift up the end of it with one finger. With practice, I’m able to roll my raft down to the water’s edge, take it off the Railblaza cart, and be fishing in less than five minutes.I hope the review was helpful. Many thanks.

I bought this cart in 2023 to manuever an Old Town Auto 120 kayak. A wheel fell off a couple of times and I fixed that with some steel pins. Then on several occasions a support strut fell off. Most recently was a couple of days ago so I had to reload the kayak into the truck and back down a ramp. Not a bad way to launch but the ramp is steep and I really didn’t want to go in up to my waist in 54 deg weather. The cart is rated at 200 lbs and my kayak weighs 150 so maybe there isn’t enough difference. When it worked it was fine but I’ve lost confidence in the product so have ordered from a different company with a much heavier rating.

Très bon chariot pour kayak avec un prix très intéressant, il faut le placer presque au milieu du kayak, comme ça on ne forcera pas pour le soulager, il basculera comme une balançoire
