Install was straight forward. Woulda Givin instal 5 stars if there were 2 of me. Aside from required hand tools , a floor jack was all I needed. I notched the air dam 3 inches wide and 3 and 3/4 inches tall. Do this right off the bat. This gives you plenty of room to get the front of the hitch high enough to get the front holes to line up. I didn't have to drill the holes out on the reciever, though it woulda saved me alot of time to drill out the front holes!! I wrestled the front passenger side bolt in from the outside of the frame.. its a solid piece of kit, heavy duty for sure. It looked chincy in the pics. Its not , it's very strong, nice clean welds. It sure makes threading the needle with a trailor really easy. Trailor turns much faster pushing from front than backing up. . With extreme accuracy... would recommend to buy..

I purchased the Reese 65049 Front Mount Receiver with 2" square Receiver opening for my 2012 Ford F350 Super Duty Diesel so that I can carry my kayak while towing my 5th wheel trailer. The hitch is of high quality and will do the job just fine. Some people reported that the mounting plates were separated a little too much and they had to use washers to take up the room. I did not find that to be the case. In fact, I used my floor jack to help "persuade" it up into place. It took me parts of several days to mount it only because I did it by myself and being on my back on a creeper isn't my most fun thing to do any more. That being said I had no major problems and it looks good installed. I'll add some pictures to this post in the next few days. I decided to reduce the vertical size of the plastic air dam before I reinstalled it. I think it looks better this way and don't believe it will negatively affect my fuel economy. Overall, this hitch is a good value and I'm pleased with the results. Having a helper to install would make the job go easier though. BTW, the hitch came in a sturdy cardboard box and all was in good shape when I received it. Jeff

installed on my 2015 F350. I use it for our bike rack when we haul our 5th wheel. Installation was relatively easy, as they recommend this is a two person job but i only had me so a couple jack stands worked great as helping hands. Hitch looks great and works as i hoped.

What seemed like an easy install on a '16 F-350 6.7, it took an hour just to remove the front air dam. Hidden fasteners etc. One time use plastic fasteners Once that was off, there are 2 frame horns that have to be removed. The 18mm socket or wrench is for that operation. They can be discarded or saved, whatever one wants to do. On the right hand side underneath, the trans cooler is placed above one of the horns, carful not to damage the lines when removing the horns.Installing the front mount, it has to be positioned correctly to get the bolts in from the inside of the frame. The forward bolts are fairly easy to get in with a magnet and clever-kleps. The upper bots are a different story. The fish wire they send is pretty springy. I fed a wire down the frame through the upper bolt holes to pull the fish wire up through the frame. The fish wire barely fits through the hole with bolt attached. Beware, it is only good for 2 pulls as it bends and distorts pulling the bolt through the hole. Cutting the front air dam is straight forward to fir the receiver through. As rotary sawblade on a Dremel does the trick. It is now mounted and sturdy. A front winch cradle will be mounted to the receiver today.

I wish i knew how easy this would make maneuvering my boat, I would have bought this years ago. 8 foot wide boat trailer and 9 foot gate made backing in very difficult even with a spotter. Now it's a breeze all by myself.Worth every penny!

Installed easily on the ground by myself in 90 minutes on a '14 2wd f250 xl.I fished the rear bolt driver side, then hooked the front left of hitch over the bottom bumper lip and put the nut on the rear bolt. Then took two bolts off right front inner bumper so it could move forward (outer brackets bolts left alone).Used a jack to push right side hitch up between bumper & swaybar and lined up rear hole.Fished right rear bolt through frame & hitch at the same time & put the nut on... Now the front of the hitch is resting on the lower bumper lip.Use the jack to push up middle of hitch til the front holes line up & put front bolts in with nuts & washers.Tightened up all hitch bolts & replaced the two right bumper bolts. My valance was off so i could put a 4wd valance on which is two inches taller than the 2wd valance.I lost about 4" ground cleance but i'll be adding a lift to raise it up.It will be easy to mark the hole in my new valance by simply holding it in place while i mark the hole.Im deducting two stars because it isnt a Reese as stated in the listing.
