I was very pleasantly surprised with how well these were designed. Most replacement lamp plugs do not insure a great contact and either have a bite down connector or a screw that you wrap the wire around that often is difficult to insure a good connection. These are much better designed.Like most repair things these days, instructions seem to be an afterthought. To help out, I am writing mine. I have included a photo of the separated halves and plug assembly. From left to right in the photo is one half, the nut and bolt, the other half, and finally the plug assembly. The installation is a little more complicated but insures a much better and permanent connection. First, you simply cut off the old plug, separate the two lamp wires about 3/4". Strip away about 1/4" of insulation exposing bare wire. Separate the two halves of the replacement plug and be careful not to lose the nut and bolt. Next loosen the screws to each wire clamp but do not remove them entirely. Insert the bare wire into the circular tube of the wire clamp until it is fully inserted past the anchoring screw. Tighten the screw firmly to insure a good contact. You can check the connection by pulling on the wire. It should not pull loos Repeat for the other wire. Now both wires are solidly attached to the new plug. Now remove one of the screws for the wire clamp and loosen the other slightly. You will be able to lay both of the separated wires into the clamp by lifting one end of the clamp and sliding the wires under the clamp. Replace the clamp screws and tighten well. Now place the plug assembly in-between the two halves and connect them with their nut and bolt. When you finish, you should NEVER have a plug failure again. The nice rotation feature also takes the strain off of the lamp cord. This is one replacement plug that will not need to be replaced! It will be my go to replacement plug as long as I can get these.

I was a bit surprised by the size of the plugs when they arrived. But they are very easy to connect wires to and swivel very nicely to any position you desire, so I won't complain too much. Very happy with the price and quality of the product, just not the size.

The plugs seem fine but not as sturdy and good as typical ones. The prongs are kind of sloppy (not polarized which is probably fine). The cord entry into the plug doesn't seem to really hold the cord so pulling on the cord instead of the plug (which you shouldn't do) could cause the wires to loosen over time. If you want an inexpensive plug and don't have high expectations this works. It does swivel pretty well so that is a plus. I won't be using for what I intended but will hang on to them for future use... perhaps.

Good fit worth the purchase. Wire coming out of unit is clamped with plastic bar and two screws, secured well. Connection to neg. And pos. Pols very sturdy. Small brass blocks with a through hole to slip wire in. Then a screw presses through the hole. Looks like a tie down for grounding rod.. simple and very secure. The housing slips off the prongs making it easier to work. Pivot point for prongs is basically riveted. The weakest point would be that, but I don’t see an issue unless you abuse it to much. Picked these up to make a test lead with alligator clips on the other end. Also a custom thin cord both to use in my tool box. Very good addition. You won't lose sleep geting them!

These plugs are NOT polarized. The description says polarized but both prongs are the same size and will go into a polarized outlet both ways. Using this plug when a polarized one is needed can cause a potential shock hazard. I'm not returning them but I will blackball the seller and never recommend or purchase from them again!

My industrial sewing machine lamp does not come with an integral plug, so I was looking for a replacement that didn't leave the leads exposed to the environment (see pic of black plug). This was a perfect replacement. Plus I loved that the plug could be toggled to be perpendicular or parallel to the wall.Assembly is pretty self explanatory, but I chose the direction of my wires to make it more difficult to pull out accidentally. The terminal connections seem pretty solid, but if they're not, at least the box came with two more I can swap it out with.I totally recommend this product.
