This is an extension piece that mounts on your Kohler shower mixing valve when it’s too recessed into your shower wall and the the handle cannot be installed because it cannot catch the thread. This product is a life saver! and works great. It’s either that or you’ll have to shim out your mixing valve by 3/8-5/8†which will require braking or cutting the tiles around the valve.

We had our new bathroom installed with marble that was too thick to use JUST the valve that came with the fixture so the Kohler salesperson gave me the part # to order based off our trim kit & told me it'd be faster to get from amazon than the Kohler store. It arrived next day & did the job

I have 1 major gripe, and one minor gripe.MAJOR: the ABS casting for the plastic housing is absolute trash quality. The threads were blocked by excess material, and literally snapped off like spiral spaghetti.MINOR: my handle was perfectly vertical on my deep rough. With the adapter it's off by 5-10 degrees. Typical Kohler.

This extension will good when the faucet has to deep and connected the tile guys or plumbers that not attention to the manufacturer direction.

We bought new Kohler bathroom trim and had problems with the bathrub facet...it did not fit our existing hardware. YouTube recommended this extender and Amazon reviewers answered my question promptly (the kit comes extender ring and tabs) so I ordered. This was a game changer...no plumber needed.
