This tester is good for basic troubleshooting your ethernet cables. It can do length, continuity, PoE, etc. A good tool to have if you deal with ethernet a lot.

The unit is compact, simple and can be used to ensure you're terminating your cables correctly, look for issues within the cable, determine the length of the cable, figure out which port on the switch a cable is connected to etc.It's easy enough to use, though you have to make sure you have the cable plugged into the correct port to perform your tests. It's a compact, rechargable unit, with a transmitter/tester and receiver/locator unit to help you figure out which cable is which.I really like it for it's ease of use, and basic functionality. The tests are basic, and hit most of the marks in testing equipment. The feedback on the tests is mostly of the go/no-go variety, so there's no nuance if you're trying to determine more subtle flaws and it cannot detect signal quality or loss, so you could have a correctly terminated and crimped cable that passes tests, but there's still signal loss that affects your connectivity.All in all, not bad for the price, and has all the basic functions you really need.

Great little kit for testing your ethernet cat cables verifying the pairs and length.It takes a little bit of getting used to but this kit works great. Definitely recommend it
