Dripping Delta shower faucet, what to do? I watched several You tube videos and decided to give the repair a shot before calling a plumber. I read reviews here on Amazon. Some called this junk, some said it was great. At over $60 for a Delta brand cartridge and less than $15 after discount I decided to try this part! It arrived the next day, Amazon Prime. I also order some Danco waterproof lube! The first attempt at install and what I thought was appropriate lube, I could not get the cartridge to seat. Heavily lubed the cartridge and on second attempt it slipped into place. Adjusted water temperature dial for full hot, no kids in my house, put everything back together, no drips, no leaks, very happy. Total job time for me was less than an hour. Will it last? I don't know, but they did include a second set of rubber O rings for a second repair! $60 or $15... I'm pleased with $15.

Had a constant drip in my shower and the plumbing guys wanted 200-300 to fix. Jumped on youtube and got the 5 minute training session and then to Amazon to purchase the valve. Item came next day and was a very easy job to do on my own. The valve was a perfect fit for the old one I replaced and is doing it's job. No leaks!

This cartridge is a perfect fit for my Delta shower control. Only have a minor issue with the product. When installing the cartridge into the brass housing, the O-rings need to be ‘greased’ for easier insertion. A small vial of petroleum jelly would be a handy addition to the package, as a reminder and actual lubricant for the rubber rings.

Good: Did not leak or restrict flowBad/Unusable: Limited hot water flow to an unacceptable degree. I’m aware of how to use the hot water limiter. I set the limiter on the cartridge to full hot setting (double and triple checked). It just isn’t calibrated correctly and doesn’t let nearly enough hot water through.I ordered OEM Delta parts and they worked perfectly. Don’t waste your time or be enticed by lower price. Just order OEM.

I'm sure glad I did, or I would have replaced them again and again. Maybe another sink or two is also leaking in your house around the same time and you thought, gee, that's odd. You can get a water pressure gauge for cheap on Amazon and attach it to any spigot in your house to test your water pressure. For whatever reason went up 40lbs! Apparently, it should be around 50-70.Turns out, my cartridges were probably fine, and my house water pressure was way too high. Anything higher than 80 is not good, and can push water through your faucets and damage your fittings and appliaces! The sooner the better. Heck, you should know your water pressure even if it's not so bad that its dripping. Nip it in the bud.If it is your pressure, it could have a couple causes, but most likely it's just too high coming into your house. If you don't have one, installing a Pressure Reducing Valve will bring down the municipal water pressure to a normal level and most likely stop pushing the water through your faucets, wasting water and money. If you're super handy, you probably already know this. If not, you'll probably want a plumber to do it because they have to cut and solder pipes, all sorts of stuff.Just give it a try. And hey, if your water pressure is fine and your cartridge is really bad, this cartridge works just as good as the OEM! At least for now. I'll update this if anything changes. Peace and good luck!

I have experience with these cartridges and they are hit or miss I guess. But as many people have suggested that the adjustment ring does not work is not quite correct. The problem lies in the back half of the cartridge. I thought my adjuster may have not been working as well but when I swapped out the back half of my old cartridge and attached it to my new cartridge the temperature was fine. This may be your problem as well. The adjuster ring on the front just limits the travel of your shower handle however the mixer valve in the back was designed to protect you from being scalded or frozen lol but obviously it may be defective in the unit you receive. The front and back halves detach with a simple quarter turn counter clockwise and don't forget to transfer the new seals to the old back half if you use it. Good luck!

I have replaced my original delta cartridge with your cartridge and set the hot water limiter to the hottest, however the water is still not warm (indeed the water is too cold for shower) Please advise if there is any way to further the limiter to get hotter water.

This cartridge does not allow the water coming through the shower faucet to get hot enough (lukewarm at best), even when cartridge is adjusted to the hottest setting.
