As other have stated, you do have to attach the plug to the mat before use, which was done with an exacto knife easily. The mat is of nice quality, and as it is a fairly non slip item, works well under my 3d printers where I live in a very static environment of Arizona, ie dry air, so this works a treat for both purposes of static discharge upon approach and non slip mat so my machine is stable.

I got this as a mat for my 3D printer which tends to build up static as much as I do. I fried one of the cheapest circuit boards on it from static and thought this would help prevent additional or more serious damage in the future. This fit perfect on my 2'x3' wood top cart without any trimming. I have the printer frame grounded to the enclosure which is grounded to the mat which is grounded to the nearest outlet. Now every time I walk up to the printer I just make sure to touch the work surface first (and get shocked every singe time) and I know that it is preventing me from damaging my printer again.

Best ESD mat I ever worked with! Nice non-slip “grippy†surface that is thin yet durable. No doubt will last for several years. Not a huge fan of the ground/drain wire quality, but the mat itself seems perfect to me.

Works great. Used this for doing PC builds. Great size for my tasks. Took off one star because it could use a little better instructions for assembly. Had to go online to manufacturers site for better instructions.

If the mat came with a snap button installed, I would give this five stars. The fact it came with a strap set and no installed snap is silly.

Finally someone gets it, and is importing a mat that lays completely flat, is genuinely static dissipative, with a smooth surface that is actually high heat resistant and durable. I also like that that the connection snap is not preinstalled, leaving the best placement for that connection up to the end user.
