How to use our salinity meter
Step 1:
Clean the metal probe with clean water and wipe them dry, in case of residual salt or water interfere test.
Step 2:
Press ON/MENU key to turn the instrument on.
Immerse the probe into liquid that you want to test, and wait 3-5 seconds for test automatically complete.
Step 3:
Clean the metal probe with clean water and wipe them dry, in case of residual salt or water corrode the metal. Then put instrument away in box.
Don't forget clean the metal probe every time before test
- Clean the metal probe.
- Turn the machine on and soak probe into liquid.
- Wait for 3-5 seconds, you'll get readings.
- Clean and dry the probe, then put machine away.
- CAUTION: DON'T let probe touch or close to the rim of sample tanker, it makes result incorrect.

I tested this with calibration liquid and was surprised that it was accurate. I have an icecap that is no longer accurate even after calibrating it. Hope this one will last longer.

I got my meter and it reads 1.015. I kept adding salt and I kept reading the same things so I finally realized it didn’t work. I bought calibration solution, but it doesn’t appear to be working.

The main thing to remember is it's performing a battery of tests when you use it. Salinity is part of it. When the meter is done you can click through all the results. Don't expect to be able to keep it just on salinity.

This seems to work consistent and accurate but calibration does not work well. I finally stropped fighting with it, knowing that it is just going to read 1pt low

Over the past month this has managed to kill off some of my fish. Bought a different one and my salinity is at 1.029 while this one is reading 1.021. It's been to long to get a refund at this point and I'm pretty upset.Update. Found out how to calibrate this thing... gotta have calibration liquid first."1.026"Press the power button 7 times and it goes into calibration mode. Stick it in the solution wait for it to beep and your done.

So I bought this tester because I wanted a digital tester. After recieving it and trying it out against two other salinity testers this one was not accurate. Even after calibration. It kept coming in a 1.022 when I know for certain the water was 1.025. So other buyers, if you tester your water and it’s low or high just double or triple check against a different salinity tester. Tho I do like that it tells the temp and the tds’s which were spot on just the salinity was off.
