I needed to install several ground rods (over 6 feet long) for bear zappers I was installing around the house. Using a Dewalt RotoHammer, this worked like a charm with driving into rocky soil. This thing held up to some pretty significant hammering. Anyone with a decent roto-hammer needs to add this to their tool collection.

Look, this thing did exactly what it is advertised to do. The issue is that I was using a Millwaukee Rotary Hammer and that thing was just not applying enough force to the rod. Once the rod hit harder soil, I had that thing running for 30 minutes, with me pushing down on it, with less than 1cm of progress. To be fair, I was putting in a 10 foot 3/4 grounding rod, so about as big as can be for this tool.I ended up just pounding the rod in with a handheld t-post driver. If you are going to use a tool for this, just get a bigger tool. I have a demolition hammer that I should have used instead, but this bit doesn't fit that tool. (I should have bought a tool that fit the demolition hammer.)

High quality driver bit. I hit rocks on three out of five attempts to drive two ground rods. I was done in five minutes without having to touch a hammer or shock the neighbors with my vocabulary. I can't see room for any improvement. Great product that allows you freedom from hammers. I highly recommend

Needed to drive two 8 foot long ground rods into the ground a foot below finished grade (9’ total) and after about a foot down my ground is rock hard compressed clay that looks more like solid rock layers than dirt. I can’t even dig it with a mini excavator its so hard, to dig my trenches I had to use a breaker then scoop out everything I chipped up.As far as this tool goes its top notch. The lower than everyone else price and mention in the description about being welded had me a little concerned it’d probably just break. I’m not sure what they’re referring to as being welded, it looks like the entire part was machined from a single solid block of steel. It held up perfectly for me and got the job done without looking like it’s ever even been used. As far as this tool goes don’t even think twice, I can’t imagine anything they could do to some of these that are 2-3 times higher priced that would make them justifiably better. Your own results will depend solely on the quality of the hammer drill you’re using, not this bit. If you have trouble driving a rod in its your hammer drills fault, not this bit. It can’t make a cheap hammer drill perform like the $400 corded hammer drill I use.I can’t believe someone gave this 1 star because they ordered an SDS Plus bit for obviously an SDS Max chuck they have. The bit for the one I ordered is SDS Plus and its the exact right size to fit my Milwaukee SDS Plus corded Hammer Drill. Make sure you’re ordering the right size SDS for what you’re using this in.

Nos ayudó mucho a clavar varilla de 5/8 y apuntalar polines para un muro de contención. Herramienta muy eficiente
