works great- I need to kow when someone comes in my side gate. I have a exterminator, a pool person, landscapers, and a cleaning lady who are through that gate at various times through the month. I connected this sensor to my smartthings hub with a door and window sensor so I get a text every time someone passes through the gate. I tried to use a motion sensor buy it just doesn't work outside. I plan to install at least two more of these around my home so I know when people are coming and going. This works even when I am in my away which is really important.It works 100% of the time.It took a little doing to get it lined up but after that it worked perfectly.

We purchased the Seco-Larm 45ft reflective beam sensor. This product work exactly as expected, was easy to install, and is protecting us from closing our gate on our cars. Great product for the money!

We used this unit to replace a worn out one. The price difference for this unit compared to others was enough to warrant giving it a go. The unit installed very easily, and works great. We have had wind and rain storms and haven't had to re-adjust the sensor once!

This thing is cool. I have integrated it into my home automation / security system (Vera 3). I now have a beam break sensor, which is much more specific than a motion sensor. The range seems fine for what I am using it for (30 ft).

The unit came complete with mounting brackets and some hardware. The instruction sheet provided the information needed to connect the device for my specific application. I had to purchase L brackets to mount the device holding bracket and the reflector. The reflector required me to drill a hole it to mount it to the L bracket.Alignment of the device to the reflector took some time.The target area that the reflector must be in at that distance is less than 6" x 6". Also angular alignment is critical.After bending the L brackets just a bit, it works well.I set the response time to 5mS (fastest) and the distance to MAX.This device is used to span the door of a two car garage. My application is to activate a rotating red light (120 VAC) when a car is not in the garage far enough to clear the garage door.It works, well.

We installed this with our gate opener as a safety device. It gradually completely stopped working not allowing our gate to close over a one week period. I tried re-aiming the sensor and it became a solid red light no matter what I did to adjust it.. As soon as I unplugged the unit from our gate opener of course it closed with out a problem. If you want your alarm to stop working in a month or so after purchase by all means feel free to throw away 52 bucks on this thing. I'm very sorry we did.

Works well once setup. I use as an exit sensor, hooked up to a microcontroller. It took longer than expected to line up. Could do with guidance on that.
