Had to replace an old photocontrol that wore out. This model was easy to install and hopefully will work great for another 10+ years fully exposed to the elements.

I bought this to replace a broken 12 year old electric eye that controls our outdoor security lights. This photocontrol is easy to mount with its 1/2 NPT female threaded fitting. Wiring is easy - only 3 wires to connect. The adjustable tilt also makes it easy to point the photocell in the correct direction.

Excellent replacement. The photo I only last about four years so we replaced with the exact same thing not sure any other brand would last longer.

I bought it to replace a failing photo controller on an outside sodium lamp used for security purposes in my backyard. It is an on at dusk off and dawn system. The design of this one is a little different from the one I had installed originally with the light fixture so some adjustments had to made over a few days to make it work correctly. The problems I had were with feedback that would turn the light off and on every 10 minutes or so. But the swivel system allowed me to adjust the direction of the photocell sufficiently to eliminate this problem. If it didn't have the swivel, I would not have been able to resolve the feedback issue. Other than that, it is working fine. Durability is very important to me, but I can't say how long this will last. My last one lasted 10 years and I have two in the front of the house that have lasted 30 years. That is my standard. If this one fails anytime soon, I will come back and revise my rating. The durability clock starts at 02/02/2020 !

I purchased this sensor to replace a tork 2000 that was installed by the builder at our new house. The tork sensor was installed on the side of our house about 4 feet off the ground pointed upwards so it viewed a lot the brick wall of the house. The light fixture connected to it would turn on correctly at dusk but would not turn off until about early afternoon. The tork support told me the sensor should be pointed away from the house b/c the brick wall in the shade may be appearing to dark to the photocell. The intermatic sensor has the pivot elbow but also allows the head to swivel to point practically any direction. On the unit I received, the metal sliding cover actually has a hole in it to allow some light into the photocell. This actually works nicely to give an added level of adjustment for the sensitivity. When I first installed it, the light fixture was turning on a little too late at dusk for my preference, so I used a translucent piece of masking take over the hole to make it a little darker, which results in light fixture turning on a little earlier. I expect different translucent materials could be used for adjustment or black electrical tape if needed to be completely blocked. The sensor has been installed now for ~3-4 weeks and there have been no issues. Seems to turn on/off very consistently.

The first one which was the same model lasted for 11 and 1/2 years.Let's hope this one lasts for just as long. It's too soon to tell. But my fingers and toes are crossed!Easy to swap out.I do not utilize the little light adjustable metal tab however it Appears to be a good thing in some installations.

I didn’t completely ding the product because the product works well if you don’t use LED’s. I have used this product several times but i recently began changing external lights to LED and ordered some more - they DO NOT WORK FOR LED.Again it gets confusing trying to buy sometimes and look at delivery time, pricing and then models - but avoid if using LED lights.

Worked perfect. I had to replace one on my house and while it took me awhile to find the right one, this went in with no troubles.
