About this item

  • 【Motion Activated】 : Sensor function triggered by motion, you can use this small motion sensor switch to control lighting like Led strip lighting.
  • 【Light Sensor Adjustable】: This function allows you to use the motion sensor in different ambient condition, for example, you set the light sensor value to 20 lux, when the room ambient light value is above 20 lux, the light won’t turn on, but when room ambient light value is less than 20 lux, the sensor can turn light on when motion detected within sensing range.
  • 【Delay Time Adjustable- Please set this to its minimum value first then try to figure out your values for the Sensitivity and Light Sensor- this will save your time】: The delay time controls how long the light stays on once it gets triggered, during the delay time if motion detected, the delay time will reset and start a new delay time.
  • 【Sensitivity Adjustable】: The sensitivity controls how close you need to be to the sensor in order to activate it.
  • 【Wide Application】: You can use this sensor in different occasions like entryway lighting, cabinet lighting, lighting, pantry lighting, under the bed rails lighting.

Product Description

12v motion sensor
motion sensor switch
motion activated switch

PIR(Passive infrared) Motion sensor is pyroelectric device can detect human movement by detecting Infrared ray emitted by human body.

Automatic Induction: When people enter into the range of induction, it will output a voltage equal to input voltage, after the delay time, it will output 0V; during the delay time if motion detected, the delay time will reset, and start a new delay time. widely used on the Motion-activated lighting, LED strips Security System, automatic sensory device and more.

Specifications :

Operating voltage: DC 12V-30V

Load current: 3A

Detecting range: About 110 degrees cone angle

Trigger way: continuous triggering

Blockade time: 0 seconds

Size: 48*25*14 mm

Attention:

1.Don't exposed to direct sun light or lighting, big wind, near a heater or air condition.

2.Don't fix it at a place where there are obstructing material (e.g. Glass, dense clothes) which IR cannot get though.

3.Don't fix it in strong shock or vibration environment.

4.The PIR Sensor requires a 'warm-up' time in order to function properly, about 10s to1min,depend on the delay time; during this time, the signal triggered by the module is not stable, after one minute, it will be ready.

This little switch works wonderfully! I use it as a motion detector in my home's entry-way to turn on 2 meters of LED strip when you walk in the door after dark. It is unobtrusive and always works correctly! I saw some reviews saying that there was no way to adjust it, but I had no trouble: you simply pop off the back of the case with a small flat-head screwdriver and the three blue dials are all immediately visible and accessible. The sensitivity dial controls how close you have to be to the sensor in order to activate it, and I set mine to about the halfway point, so it wouldn't trigger when someone walked down the hallway a few feet from the entry-way. The delay time dial controls how long the light stays on once it gets triggered, and it is super sensitive! Just a degree or two can change the amount of time by several seconds! The Light Sensor dial controls the lighting threshold. What I mean is that it sets a light level that the sensor bases its operation around: if the ambient light (the amount of light already present in the room) is below the threshold, then the sensor will allow itself to be triggered and turn the lights on when it senses motion. But if the ambient light is above the light threshold, you can't trigger the sensor and it won't turn on. This turned out to be an incredibly useful feature for me, because it allowed me to play around until I found a value that starts triggering the sensor around twilight/dusk.A quick tip for using the adjustment dials:When you are trying to figure out your values for the Sensitivity and Light Sensor dials, have the delay time set to its minimum value, otherwise you'll be wasting a TON of time waiting for the lights to turn off to try new settings. Also, when you pop the back off of the sensor to get at the dials, be aware that the sensor's circuit board is not actually screwed into place inside the housing, and so will fall out if you turn it upside down... Now, I didn't find this to be a problem for me, but it may disconcert some people, so just be aware.Because of how useful these little sensors seemed to be (as well as how cheap they were!!!), I bought 2 of them on my first order and boy am I glad I did. Now I have set them up at both my front and back doors, and I'm even thinking about setting one up for my internal garage door! I really can't praise this product enough! Just keep in mind that they were never meant to control an entire room full of LED lights; the maximum current on this thing is only 3 Amps, so don't overdo it!

This motion worked out very nicely for me. I was looking for a way to light my gun safe. On YouTube I found a number of videos using LED lights to do this. One of them referenced this sensor as part of what they used along with the LED lights and power supply. I inserted the product link for them in this review so I hope they show up. It could not have been easier to do. Took me about a half hour. The results were excellent! There are three screws inside this unit to make adjustments. The information on the package is very brief and to me it was confusing. I started out by just setting them all in the middle and it was perfect! Several days after I received the item (and had installed it) I received with nice detailed instructions on the setting screws. I should have gotten it the day it shipped I suppose but it is helpful so if you are confused about anything just wait for the e-mail. If you're doing a gun safe check out YouTube. Otherwise a big thumbs up!

This item solved a problem I had lighting a long, outdoor walkway on the side of my house. I needed an easy way to illuminate the path for people coming from either direction. The problem was that most motion lights could not monitor both sides of this walkway easily, or if they could, they would only control a spot light which was too harsh for my installation. I could have also used high-voltage motion sensors and wired them to an outlet, but then I would have had to install conduit. By using low voltage I was able to install them using small wires and zip ties without needing conduit. This replaced a couple of Insteon SmartHome motion sensors that broke over time. Since the company has since gone out of business I found that I had to DIY if I wanted to control the existing lights in a similar way. Using these, I was able to replicate the function of the Insteon motion sensors.I hooked two of these in parallel to a 12volt relay that was wired to an independent outlet in which I plugged incandescent rope lights. The lights were run the length of the walkway. Since there is one of these motion sensors on either side of this path, a person could approach from either direction and the rope lights will turn on (and anything else plugged into that 'controlled' outlet). I could have just used 12v LED lights and not needed the relay, but I already had the lights installed and wanted the flexibility to change them later on.

I used these to light up my stairways when it's dark. it has been running for 24/7 for the past 4 years before the sensors finally died and stayed as ON the whole time. Took a bit of effort to remove the old solder and replace it but otherwise, it's straightforward.

I bought some of these do use to activate a custom LED strip within lower cabinets with a long lazy Suzan / pull out. I have only implemented one so far. While it does take some experimentation to set the on time, so far it has been working very well.

I like to turn off my desk light when away, but often I am up late at night or early morning when it is dark so having a sensor switch that detects me when I am wandering around is a good idea. Good safety idea to see where you are going. so on comes the desk lamp, and it is safe.

This device did not work consistently right out of the box. Sometimes it would not shut off or it would not detect motion, didn't turn on. It is really a useless device anyway.

Excellent product. It came really fast too. The only bad thing is that the adjustments can't be done without opening the case (Wich cannot be done easily)
