I put these pickups in my Squire 60s Classic Vibe Precision Bass and they sound great! They have a punch to them. I loved playing this bass before, but with these pickups, I love it even more. The only negative thing I have to say is with the way the seller shipped them. They put them in an unpadded paper envelope and the box got smashed. Thankfully, it didn't damage the pickups but I hate getting something that the original packaging is damaged. Especially when it could have been avoided by adding some padding to ship it in.

These pick-ups are exactly what I was looking for. From the first note the difference from the stock Fender pick-ups was stark. They provide much richer mid-tones which in turn, fatten up the bottom end and cut through the mix. These are not just for Heavy Metal. The tone is big and in your face!

I'm using this on a Warmoth 32" P bass build. I started with the Fender vintage (ie 62) pickups. They were just too light, especially on the high end. The G string was really lost and I couldn't bring it up even with tilting the pickup. So, I did a lot of research about what to try next. I play jazz and funk and R and B - its a wide variety of styles. So, I need something that can from sounding mellow to something having a little bit or edge, but not too much. I'm using roundwounds. I thought about putting Quarter pounders on but they are too much. I'd say that this pickup is just about right. Really good tone qualities, enough edge when I need it, evenly balanced across the strings. I was originally put off by the heavy metal connections but I read enough to believe that this is a good all pickup for many styles. This is correct - do not be put off by the heavy metal connections. This will, for instance, give a good tone for playing Jazz standards with a small group. One other plus - the pickups are fully grounded with copper foil on the back - big plus. So, very happy after a couple of days.

Pickups look great and of good quality as anyone would expect from Seymour. Solder was nice and neat, appear to be made well. Hope they sound as good as they look! Only issue was packaging was cracked most likely from shipping. Was a bit disappointed because I like the plastic cases Seymour uses with their pickups, as I usually store my old pickuos in the case to keep everything neat. Guess I won't be using the old packaging this time.

Do yourself a favor and buy these pickups!!! I'm a professional bass player and play rock, funk, pop and jazz and I was looking for pickups that sounded versatile especially when playing with roundwound strings. These pickups fit all of those styles perfectly! They sound like a great vintage p bass pickup but a bit hotter. Perfect balance from string to string. I'm surprised of how versatile these pickups are. Perfect amount of lows, mids and highs. They sit great in the mix. If you want the Steve Harris grindy sound its there too when the tone is all the way up and you dig in. I have tried many p bass pickups including Aguilar, Fender Original and Dimarzio. These sound way better to me! A lot more balanced, less bright and with more bass than Fender Originals which seemed to be much more oriented to flatwound strings. Get these pickups!

Even without trying to emulate Steve Harris’ finger playing style, they still sound clanky. Such a hard baked-in sound with these. Not versatile.

I got these because they're similar in construction to vintage pickups, just a little higher output. I'll say that's exactly what they deliver. They come wired in series, so if you want to run them in parallel, you'll have to snip and solder the short leads, you can then wire a 2 position series/parallel switch. Its worth doing though, that gives an even more clear percussive attack that really pops in funk or jazz. If you want a really muddy, bass heavy pickup, look elsewhere. If you want a clear ringing tone that sounds the way you play, get these.

This pickup really nails the Steve Harris sound (well, no surprise there), especially if you use flatwound strings and a bit of overdrive. They sound like a -slightly- hotter vintage pickup with added mids. Very nice for a Motown sound with a little extra kick. They still are very clear, but have that extra kick in the mids that gives the sound a lot of character. Output is pretty good, a bit louder than pure vintage, but nowhere near as hot as a Quater Pounder or anything like that.

klingt so wie ein Preci klingen soll!Knorzig, fett, mittig.

Best passive pick-ups that I’ve ever played. Full, round low end, a strong midrange, and highs that are not too high. Just how I love it.I highly recommend these.
