This thing is actually really great for getting your fly down to the deeper areas. You need to adjust your leader and/or add split shot or you get a hinged connection that sinks and a leader that doesn't. It's a given that you should use a bead head or otherwise weighted fly, too.

Great floating tips or short heads. They don’t specifically say they are meant for it but I’ve found using these as a short shooting head for smaller rods and rivers works like a charm! Throw some small diameter running line behind it, another sink/float mow tip and some 6lb maxima leader and your set to fish anywhere with a 4-6 wt depending on which grain wt and length you bought! Good quality product!

sure it works but the quality is just not there. huge memory issues, nasty glossy finish. they remind me of old headphone cables. that said they are less than half the leading brands. id say they are worth for beginners to figure out the casting stoke. they would also be good as a backup or to get a sinking rate that is more obscure or optional. yeah ill probably keep buying them but i wont enjoy the fishing as much as an MOW or OSPT

I actually ordered the wrong thing as this is not really suitable for my rod but put it on my small rod to try and works fine
