Very handy set of spoons. Used them for a Jeep body that was being built from scratch when filling in holes left over from the sheetmetal screws.

If you are welding new sheet metal to old sheet metal this is a must buy. During our old car restoration we kept burning holes thru the old sheet metal. We bought this tool and one of us would hold the copper behind the spot to be welded. The copper keeps the weld from blowing a hole thru the metal. Works great. We also used an old piece of copper water pipe that we hammered flat. That gave us a longer reach. Both worked great when wire feed welding. Welding old sheet metal without a copper backing is very difficult.

Excellent for filling holes and welding in awkward spots.It's nice you can switch the screw holes to get the copper plate situated better as a backer.Works very well because welding rod/wires don't stick the copper.Love the excellent price for the quality!

Looks like someone is mass producing these out of the back of their house. All the same, it's a welding implement and should do the job. Happy with it even though $30 is a little steep for what it is.

With almost 30 years in the welding industry I have used a lot of tools. One thing that every experienced welder should have is a copper backer. This tool is very versatile compared to the majority of similar ones on the market. It has a thick rubber coated solid aluminum handle to help with heat dissipation.Two of the copper backers have multiple holes for offsetting helping with access to the tightest spots.Very good tool for light to medium duty use. Pictured in another review of damage due to totally incorrect usage, this tool when used correctly, will get the job done. I have used many copper “spoons†in my almost 30 years and this is one of the better ones.Video review coming soon.

I'm restoring a car and this tool is fantastic when having to close up old screw holes that are no longer needed. It came with several angle spoons and has a nice rubber grip.It does exactly what I needed it to do and wasn't very expensive, happy purchase.
