I built a small shed for my granddaughter's outside cats to stay warm. It's easy to install and easy for her to work.

Without instructions (none were included) i can't figure out how to install it use most of the parts to this latch system, so I'll explain what i know about the parts.Ok, first, the hinges feel flimsy. I can bend them with my hands, so I don't see how they will hold up my heavy coop door. They did come with screws though. The parts with the built in springs, which I can only assume are the window latches since I have no instructions to confirm, seem well made and sturdy. I can understand how to pull the pin and turn it to lock it in position but I'm not sure how to install them. They also come with their screws. Then we get to the main feature, the door latch. It seems heavy duty and solidly constructed. The key turns easily in the lock. When unlocked, the plate with screw holes can be turned. I do not know what the part that kind of looks like a door handle with a hole through it is supposed to do our where it's supposed to go in this whole setup. The bar of the Latch obviously goes through it but does not turn within it, locked or unlocked. It has no holes for mounting and would theoretically go on the inside, but try as I might, I cannot figure out how the latch works or how to mount it. It also came with the screws. It's a shame they didn't include instructions, because I would have only taken off 1 star for the weak hinges, but as well constructed as the other pieces are, it's useless if I can't figure out how to use them. I had a few other people, who are more handy than me, take a look at the parts and they also don't know how to mount any of it except the hinges which I won't be using. There is nothing in the listing that gives any clue as to how to install or use any of the parts, not even a picture of them on a door to go off of. If they add instructions to the listing or if I figure it out, I'll update with more info, but as of now these are just a pile of well constructed scrap metal.

the hinges in this kit are very light duty, they wouldn't be suitable for a heavy door. They are thin metal like somethng for a cabinet door, so I would limit a set of 3 hinges to about 30 pounds. The included screws are nothing special, very short, and look like basic black screws that would rust. The door handle is decent, but also light duty. The door lock works but screws on from the OUTSIDE, a burgler could simply remove the 2 screws and open the door right up.The kit would work well for someone trying to keep toddlers out of a tiny Garden Shed, but this is not well suited for a heavily used or heavy weight door, and definetly not for someone trying to secure valuables on the bad side of town.
