So I bought this for my father who has a fireplace but has never used it. Now anyone who has searched for these types of racks has read the reviews about them warping or rusting and rotting away prematurely. My dad has used this a number of times now with no noteworthy wear and tear. Most if not all of the black coating is even still in tact from what I can see which is pretty impressive since fire is really hot and most coatings don't do well under those kinds of temperatures. It's a large rack but I have had no issues with it bending or anything like that, it's very sturdy. It's made my dad really happy to be able to watch a roaring fire in his fireplace and I'm sure it will last many, many years. The one caveat I will say is that we only burn regular cord wood. It is possible that people who burn these reconstituted "fire logs" or bio bricks (you know the artificial logs you buy by the box and come in their own individually wrapped paper bags) may have different results. I would guess they probably burn hotter than regular cord wood and it's possible they may cause issues that we have not experienced.

This is perfect and exactly as described. It’s sturdy and does really well in the heat. The only very small issue is that after using multiple times the color is coming. I don’t see it as a problem or issue. It’s perfect for the fireplace especially on a budget.

We absolutely love this grate! It is tall enough to allow plenty of air flow and we can load a lot of wood on it at a time!

I like the fact that there are center legs to prevent sagging. I knocked off 1 star because the bars measure exactly 1/2 inch instead of 3/4 inch as described. Nevertheless, it appears to be a well-made product that should hold up to normal use.

This grate is exactly like the one I replaced after 20 years. I expect that I will get another 20 years of extensive use since we usually burn a cord of firewood in a season.

Only buy this if you want it for decorative purposes only. Only had it several weeks till the back legs broke off.only used it 2 or 3 months and now the base is rusting away. Going to have to buy another till next year. Doesn’t even last one winter.
