I always cut off the plastic and solder them on. The plastic is pretty tough.

I bought these to repair a customer power supply, and they work fine. These flag connectors are really hard to find locally, so I ended up buying them here. You don't need the fancy crimp tool, needle pliers work fine.

These would be perfect for right angle connections. It turned out that I didn't need them, so I did not actually use them. I returned them, and the return process was easy.

The red (22-18 awg) did not work well with 18 awg wire.

Can't beat the price. The quality isn't the best but they do the job for my application (power equipment wiring, automotive wiring). You will want to use the crimping tool that's available specifically for this type of connector though. I was able to crimp without it but it was a hassle.
