Used this but for a project and it even produced a very clean edge on plywood.

My most frequently used bit! Just ordered for the second time after ruining the first bit cutting acrylic, which melted into the bearings. I use this bit way more often than any other pattern bit, it gives the least tear out and kickback out of all my bits. Cuts are super smooth, and the bit almost never leaves burn marks. It’s definitely the bit I use if I have to route across end grain, and I’ve done patterns across end grain on 3/4†and 1†thick woods including oak, ebony, maple, tamarind, mahogany, and ash.

So these work really well for final trimming if you've already roughed out a cut or only have to trim up a piece with a pattern. For full pattern cutting these hold up decent, but discolor/dull with 3/4" MDF after 100' or so.

I've cut all types of hardwood for a Texas shaped template. I've made 20 so far from walnut, purple heart and other exotics and this handles it well if you only leave 1/8" of material for it to cut. If you can't do this I'd suggest a thicker diameter bit.

This is the first time buying one of these spiral cut flush trim bits and I’m happy to have them in my collection. They cut so much smother and blow-outs are almost absent and less severe than the fluted trim bits.

The bit broke the first time I used it. I returned the broken bit for a new one to try again. The bit broke again on the first use.I have other Amana bits that work fine.

This bit is very well balanced. I gave it a test on a piece of walnut and and it was super sharp that I did not need to press hard against the template and it produced nice shavings not dust. . I've never seen a smooth finished wood surface like that. I am not sure how durable it will be but I am really impressed by the quality. Carbide is a brittle material especially on 1/4" bit so I will try to handle it delicately and be careful when feeding my work especially when starting at corners.

I build guitars and use these for trimming out necks. They work very well and seem to last quite a while. Only 4 stars because one broke off flush at the collet when trimming 4mm vinyl flooring I had glued to my work bench top….never had a problem before on hard maple, ect. Weird….must have been a bad one. Never had any other ossues.
