The Staedtler Mars matic drafting point is a high-quality drafting instrument designed for use with the Staedtler Mars matic technical pen. The professional equipment from Staedtler is specially designed for precise work, whether it be millimetre-exact planning of rooms or drawing one's visions down to the last detail. With Mars matic, Staedtler offers a drafting instrument that also meets the demands of semi-professional users or students - with the higher level of precision.
The Mars matic drafting point features a hard chrome-plated drafting tube and colour indication according to ISO and DIN for easy identification of the different line widths. The drafting point can be used on drafting and tracing paper and on matt drafting film. The drafting point can be used with a compass and most lettering guides. The Mars matic technical pen is easy to refill from a bottle or with a cartridge and there are a total of seven line widths available. The drafting point can be changed quickly and easily. The 750 M018 pen has a line width of 0.18 mm.

The 0.5 mm pen point is really an all-purpose point to use for fine lines and print uses requiring small lettering and shapes. The pen point fits my 30 year-old Mars Staedtler 700 barrel. I used these pen points, with India ink, for labeling pinned specimens and those in alcohol, lettering figures and tables for presentations in publications while in graduate school and professionally. When I was working, I made fish measuring boards for my field staff at a state agency that I added lettering and artwork to so that they would look more professional to fishermen. The boards (and artwork) were coated with an epoxy resin to reduce wear caused by fish scales. Lately, I have made coat racks with an art decoration colored with India ink using this pen point and coated with polyurethane. It looks great and should hold up to wear and wet items. The pen points clean easily as long as you don’t let ink dry and clog the point.

I’ve been using this pen almost every day since I got it a few weeks ago, with no problems. The ink starts every time, and it puts down a smooth line with no skips or blobs. I have the 0.35mm size, perfect for the drawings I do. Highly recommended!

Staedtler pen nibs are the best on the market and seems to be harder to find. Yes they are pricey but if you clean them after you use them, they will last for years. I have quite a few which are 3 decades old. The three smallest nib points are the ones you must handle with care. The .13 mm (5x0 ), .18 mm (4x0) , and .25 mm (3x0) are delicate fine instruments and are best clean in a sonic jewelry cleaner.

The item is to expensive for just the tip. I was expectkng the whole pen and it took so long to arrive I donot recommend this item to anyone

after trying everything it still will not draw a line , the inkt does not seem to let the ink throug . Have bought the ink cartridges but even that did not help. Can I send the compleet pen back?
