I needed to file down some corner spots on plastic & wood that my dog had chewed. Before using sandpaper, i used this & it worked great getting the surface smoothed out so that using the sandpaper was much easier. Very good value which i expect from a Stanley product.

I'm not sure why this tool is called that but it really turned out to be a fun little tool. I purchased this along with a small whet stone to take care of my pruning tools. My first time venturing into the responsible world of tool upkeep. The 6" size is perfect for getting into the small curved pruning blades as well as handling the large ones. For people like me who have no clue there is even explanations provided on the back of the jacket as to the different shapes and file patterns and their uses. Really is rewarding to see the tools looking almost brand new and shiny even before running them over the whet stone to sharpen!

File arrived late today and I immediately put it to use on some Fisker garden loppers. Cut back my hedges and new edge worked without issue.Doesn’t lie totally flat on my saw table surface but that is more to do with the handle shank than anything else. Honestly, most if not all the items I will be using this file on will not be straight or flat. I’d use whetstones for anything needed to be made sharp and with a perfectly flat edge…$20 price took away 1 star IMO but fast delivery offset the extra charge given my requirements!
