I'm very pleased with this micrometer. Right out of the package I measured a .01, .5 gage block and a .6257 build up and this mic was NUT. Just by holding it you can tell its made well, it has a nice weight, rachet stop works great, and all I can say is its a Starrett. All in all its well worth the price.

I bought this micrometer for my work in Non-Destructive Testing. My professors were highly impressed with it as they knew the quality at first sight. I have used it several times and love the precision. It's solid and smooth running. Most definitely a pleasure to own. When people see the tool in your hand, they know you mean business. I love that it measures out to .0001 of an inch. Great tool.

I bought this for a vocational machinist program and is working as intended everything feel solid. The one I received had a loose screw holding the plastic shielding it did not affect the tool in anyway shape or form all it needed was to be screwed back in and I have not had an issue since. If it broke or got lost or stolen w.e I would purchase again in a heartbeat.

Great mic but it has starretts dreaded friction lock that causes your mic to be rough after a decent amount of use. I love starrett but but mitutoyo mics because they have the cam lock that lasts forever.

I love the feel of this tool. It turns smoothly with just a tiny bit of resistance so the measuring surface doesn't jam itself onto the part I'm measuring as they make contact with the part.Moderate contact with cutting oil has yet to have any effect on the tool, but as a good measure I still frequently wipe my Micrometer down since you don't want to keep your tools dirty.Very satisfied with Starrett.

Wow! This one has an indicator on the side if you really have to have it down to the hundred thousandth! What's nice is that it does not try to do that on the normal reading scale but is there if you need it. I love the liquid feel of the movement and the carbon heads which just do their work without getting in the way.
