Mine did not install easily. Windows 11 had trouble recognizing it. I downloaded their driver's, device manager looked fine, but my usb-c drive was not seen. Un-installed it. Re-installed it, same thing. After a few minutes went back to device manager, I noticed 'unrecognized device'... I hit update driver, pointed it at the downloaded driver folder and finally got everything to work. Speeds are great and everything is working now.

It was an easy installation. I did add a power connection as recommended. I currently have 2 permanently connected external SSD drives connected; an 8TB and a 16 TB. The system (Windows) has been completely stable unlike when I was using a UCB C hub for the two external drives.

Works great for adding USB-C to a computer that did not previously have it. This (as far as I know) does not give you any thunderbolt compatibility, but it does give you USB-C.

I never even got to testing the unit as I found swapping out the regular face plate with the low-profile option is impossible. It does not sit right, with the plate leaning forward, one of the USB-C ports not fully through the hole and the screw hole too far away to use. The full-size option doesn't have the greatest construction, but at least it's closer to good than not.This is really disappointing as I was planning on using this in a Dell SFF PC, but I'm not comfortable leaving a large hole for dust to enter w/o using a plate.

The drivers do not work with Windows 11! The support is overseas so unless you want to stay up all night you wont get support. And they want you phone number to call you they wont email. AVOID

Mit ca. 90€ ist die Karte zwar nicht die günstigste, aber dafür kann der verbaute ASM3142-Controller mit dem VL822 Hub auch die versprochenen 10Gbit/s liefern.Unter Linux wurde die Karte sofort erkannt und funktioniert problemlos ohne zusätzlichen Aufwand.

This is one of the easiest to install PCIe cards there is. It was completely plug-and-play and delivered very fast USB-C throughput without any need for extra configuration. The power connector helps use more devices that an external USB-C hub.

After 2 hours with StarTech tech chat support their suggestion to look on the MSI website, (not Windows Update) for updated drivers got this working under Windows 11. (It had worked underWindows 10 on the same motherboard.) Thanks to StarTech and their tech Trudian F
