This stud finder Wall Scanner was reliable when I hung 3 televisions on the wall. THere is a bit of a learning curve with this studfinder but it proved to be reliable. I can select the depth of the wood I'm looking for from 1/2", 1", to 1 1/2". Then I start the scan mode by pusing the side button to calibrate the tool. The results show the sides and center of the stud to help me get the best target to drill in the center of the stud for my lag screws. Each time I look for a new stud, the device needs calibration which can be tedious at time. Also, I used it to help locate wiring to help determine if I was about to drill near wires which is a big no-no. I have pex pipes so I think that this does not help with that type of piping. Overall, this is a good device to have in the toolbox. I comes with 2 AA batteries.

Dislike it's Junk bought it to find wall studs to put up shelving and towel racks it wouldn't even show me th studs where I knew where they were .waist of money

You have to constantly reset it and many times it's wrong.

When this first arrived, I was excited for the detailed functionality this stud finder offered compared to my standard ones that I’ve used for so long. It’s been a few months of random projects around the house, and I always give this a try, but it’s really not all that great. It takes forever to calibrate each time your want to use it. It’s a bit bulky compared to a simpler version. And honestly it’s just too much if all you need to do is hang a picture.I’ve already entirely gone back to my last stud finder and this one is collecting dust, unfortunately.

This stud finder seems to work fine, though it is not our favorite one. It takes reading the instructions to figure out how this one is configured, but it has indeed worked for simple tasks. It is probably about worth the price, though there are certainly faster and more intuitive options available.

Tells you what settings to try by default and where to go if it doesn't work and worked well for what I needed it for in finding a spot to hang something up on the wall. I get it where some people don't like that you need to look at the instructions but this does a lot so it makes sense you might have to look at the paperwork to start.
