Makes planting soooo much easier! It also breaks up the soil as your auguring your holes, I’ve found that if you go slow, it doesn’t sling topsoil everywhere and keeps it right around the edge of the hole for ease of filling it back in. Well worth the $! Especially if you do a lot of gardening.

Update: I added a star back for post-review service. The seller reached out with a make-good offer after reading the review. Very refreshing that a seller cares about the quality of their product. A+ for reliability and post-sale service.---------------------------------So for the good news... these are very sturdy and are pretty good and digging through dirt. They'll get down a few inches pretty easily. They're great for light duty digging or putting in bulbs.Now for the bad news... any prolonged use of this will kill your drill. I have a B&D battery and corded drill. Used them heavily for years with no issue. 15 minutes with these bits and they each died - as in overheated and now sound really funky to use. Granted, I was doing some pretty hefty digging so keep that in mind. These bits take a lot of force to move dirt and that force is translated directly to the drill. Maybe if you're using a high-end drill it woudn't have the same effect but I can't use these anymore with what they did to my drill.

The item was in great condition. The item matched the description. The item met my expectations. Just make sure to used a drill that is 18volt to work better.

I installed 72 St Augustine grass plugs today and this tool made the job much easier. It plugs right into any drill. The hole it makes was just the right size to fit the plug which was about 3 inches. I ran into no issues with the auger breaking through the soil since it was softened up from rain the night before. 5 starts from me since it saved me time and effort, This is a must have tool for any yard/garden project.

Absolutely useless, even a small stone in the soil removes the bit from the drill, I tried with different drill machine but that again wasted time as well

Bought for the wife who is constantly adding Bluebells and Snowdrops to our woodland garden and spends most of the time digging the bulbs in with a trowel on her knees. The length of this auger enables her to stand and drill multiple holes in a group very quickly and then simply drop the bulbs in and back-fill. It makes the job so much easier, quicker and more consistent. The only observation is that you need to ‘hold’ the drill-bit back to prevent it from simply drilling in too deeply without removing the soil. If you lift the drill up and down as you go this will ensure the hole is cleared of soil and not suddenly swallow the auger bit. It would also have been helpful if the blades had extended longer up the shaft to enable deeper holes for stakes but this is its secondary use as the increased ease for bulb planting is its forte. Well made with solid shaft unlike some other hollow versions and the diameter of the hole is perfect for dropping a bulb in and allowing your pinched fingers to press in the soil behind it. Not had it long enough to have encountered any issues apart from hitting the odd tree root and having to back out and move the spot over. Used with a an old corded drill and long extension lead as this drill has a side handle for steady control and a speed limiter on it so it could be set not to run away and bury itself more quickly. Good tool and well worth having in the shed. I’m no gardener but the wife would spend all day on the garden if she could and she really likes using it and has planted many bulbs since getting it.
