I’m going to use this on some old surplus bags and replace the leather and hopefully have enough to make a belt also. I bought twoIt’s fairly low grade leather with small imperfections, but for the price that’s what you should expect. width and thickness is very uniform on both straps i got.

I mean you get what you pay for with leather. It’s toolable but not top quality. Typical for Tandy leather if you’ve used it before. Dries out quickly and doesn’t change hue when oiling.

The belt blank was an even thickness for 90% of the belt and was plenty long for the size 34" belt I made (I cut off at least 8" I think). This was my first belt and I'm really pleased to have such a good first experience. There were no weird spots to avoid and the thickness and width was perfect for a men's jean belt. The leather took stain very well and was easy to work with. You may need to trim the width a little for your buckle, and definitely need to thin/skiv the belt where you double it back bc of how thick it is.I'd definitely recommend this for newbies wanting to make a belt and not deal with cutting a strip to size from an expensive larger piece of leather.

Product arrived on time, very nice consistent color and grain throughout. A little thicker and longer than I expected. I ordered 2 blanks. One was 53" the other 63" long and 4mm thick equal to 10 oz leather. I don't know if this is actually a Tandy product. The Tandy skew No. for the same product is 4523-00 ($10), this one is 4532-00 ($8) which doesn't show up on the Tandy website.
