This coffee maker combo does it (very nearly) all.Once the simple setup is done: remove packing materials, load the bean hopper with selected beans, and fill water reservoir,… it is time to select your brew.OUTPUTThe machine brews an espresso, and small coffee, or a large (nominally 8 fl oz) coffee. Or you can get hot water. But I can get that from my faucet, so NBD on that.CLEAN RINSEThe machine runs a quick clean cycle on startup resulting in a small amount of hot water which you can use to thin out the coffee or just to warm the cup (nice!).GRINDING+BREWINGWhen the coffee is size/type selected, it feeds beans from the hopper, grinds it, brews it up and dispenses through a spout that can be moved up and down for different sized cups. You can select espresso and two sizes of coffee. The coffee it produces (for me it was Kona blend) is excellent.Nominally, you can only brew up the three sizes and it has a default grind density. You can’t adjust the water/brew temperature or the bloom time.CUP SIZEIt will only make an 8oz cup at the largest setting, so requires a couple of passes if you want a bigger mug full OR, by holding down the size/type button while dispensing, it will change the output volume (Oooo…). This volume setting then becomes the default. Note that this will tend to weaken the brew a bit: more water, same amount of coffee, you know Also, it doesn’t have a milk steamer so I find I sometimes have to microwave a cup after adding my milk to the coffee—I like my coffee very milky. Since it makes really good coffee, these slight limitations are not a problem for me.GRINDThere is a grind density knob *inside* the bean hopper. This explains why I didn’t find it. Well, that and the fact that I didn’t read the instruction manual. I mean, who reads the manual?Note: you have to adjust the grind level *WHILE the grinder is actually grindingâ€CLEANING THE MACHINENot hard to do. Have to remove and rinse the brewing module in the side, and clear out the grounds tray at the front. It figures out that the grounds tray needs to be emptied by counting the number of brews that have occurred since the last clean out, not by any kind of sensor. So you have to clean the grounds tray *WHILE the machine is in an ON-STATE†otherwise it won’t register that the tray has been emptied. This information is also in the instruction manual. Ask me how I know…EXTRASBTW, Tchibo were kind enough to include three bags (light, medium, and dark roast) of their brand coffee beans with the machine. Haven’t tried them yet since I’m working through the Kona I got for Christmas. But it’s a really nice touch and much appreciated.SUMMARYI think this machine produces just about the best coffee I’ve ever had (excepting The Coffee Gallery in Haleiwa, HI). So take that, Starbucks!Heartily brewed and heartily recommended.

Provides a nice cup off coffee/espresso. It looks great on the counter and doesn't take up much space. The capacity for the coffee beans is really good. I have to refill the water after about 5 cups of coffee, so I wish that was bigger. But it very convenient since it grounds its own coffee and then sets it off to the side for you to dispose of later, after about 5-8 cups. The brew gives a nice froth as well.

Update: This thing is DURABLE! My fiancé is now my husband, and we bought a house. As he was transporting the Tchibo to the new house, he had it sitting on the passenger seat. He had to slam on the brakes and it tumbled to the floor, and pieces apparently went flying. The coffee bean hopper lid stayed in place, although there is now a crack on the corner (I can switch to the extended hopper). Everything else got a thorough cleaning and reassembly when he got home, I ran it through a couple hot water cycles, brewed a shot of espresso, and there were ZERO issues. THAT is impressive.I refer to this as my ADHD/Neurodivergent coffee drinker's dream machine, because it totally takes care of all the things you could possibly forget in the process of making your coffee. Hopefully it's available again soon since I keep telling people about it! I've started buying the Tchibo beans at my local grocery store and I absolutely love it.Original review:I drink coffee every day. I travel for work, and feel the need to explain myself if I don't have Starbucks or similar on my Expense report. Just yesterday my brother in law made a special stop to pick up coffee for me because I had forgotten to drink any before I left the house for our big family Holiday gathering. It's that important. When I first saw ads for this on Facebook, I was curious. I started researching. I looked into other brands of similar items and determined that they would not work for me. I had a birthday coming up. This is what I wanted. I was going to buy it for myself (because seriously, a $300 coffee maker when I have other options did not fall in the need department). Then my fiancé, who just promoted at work and had been working mega overtime, said those beautiful words to me "Baby, let me buy it for you." Swoon. He loves me. And he values his life. For the record, our kids are grown, we're not young. Anyway. When it showed up, I initially had issues getting it to work. Note: DO NOT EVER FILL THE COFFEE SECTION WITHOUT THE WATER TANK IN PLACE. If there is any sort of gap in between the water tank and where it sits because, say, you crunched a coffee bean down there, air is going to get in the line and it's not going to work right. It will eventually sort itself out and start working. I realized this was why mine didn't work right initially when I moved it out from under my cabinet to a different spot and was thoroughly cleaning everything out and found the crunched beans (and had accidentally done it again). So now I always make sure that the beans are fully covered before I refill my water and we're all good. No issues.Cleaning it is easy, it always shows you if you need to add something or empty something. And I love being able to make an Espresso Martini. No worries about scalding myself or anything exploding on me. It's done for espresso making what instant pots did for pressure cooking as far as I'm concerned!
