My starter motor is OK, but the mounting bracket broke loose from it. Poor job of spot welding. Welding shop wouldnt touch it. Would damage the windings. This motor has much stronger bracket attachment. The drive gear is slightly shorter tho, which concerned me - If it would fully engage the flywheel, but after install it works OK. Nice having electric start again. Snowblower is 20yr old, so next time - probably new machine.

Shipped fast, install was easy, a third of the cost of the original Toro starter. Three reasons why only 4 stars. 1. Motor mounting bracket holes were a tighter tolerance than orig motor patience and it was all good, used 1 new screw and 1 old seemed to fit best. 2. Switch box on top is at a slight angle where orig was straight all works fine so why bother drilling a new hole does not effect function at all. 3. Fired right up but not sold on durability yet, snow is gone for awhile 🤗 so we'll have to update that aspect at a later date. Update... Dec 21. Will not engage motor only 5 starts then went out.
