I recently purchased this collet and immediately returned it. It simply wouldn't hold the bits tight no matter how much I tightened the collet. While using it the bit kept slipping and nearly ruined my project. Yes, I had the correct size bit in it. Piece of junk.

The part arrived promptly and fits my Porter Cable 7518 just fine. Yes, the snap ring is not there but it also does not come apart even without it so I'm not sure what the need is - I can pick one up for a few cents if I feel the need, but I don't right now.My 1/4 bits fit nicely and snugly into the collet prior to tightening, and the collet tightens them down very nicely and securely. It is a good collet for a great price.
