Like other reviewers have said the Heft handle tends to move or detaches with use , that said instead of drilling through it I found that 3 strong cable ties solve that problem . When it’s secured it works really well , your back will appreciate it and it enables you to lift a substantial load ( in my case snow ) without straining your back . I did not think it would make such a difference but after using a similar product when shovelling a neighbours walk ( used theirs when they were away) I was sold on the beauty of the two handle shovel. As long as you are willing to secure it I think it’s a great addition to any shovel.

Great idea, failure on execution. The product worked great for about 30 mins. Those 30 mins saved a lot of lifting and torquing on the back. However, after that, the glue that secures the rubber pieces to the lift start coming apart. The rubber pieces eventually fall off completely and when they do the product doesn’t stay in place and is useless. Now I’m left with a shovel that has glue all over the shaft of the shovel. So not only is the product defective, now my shovel needs to be replaced. Way to go with the cheap materials.

Seems that it might serve its purpose, but it does not fit the handle I wanted it for.

Don’t be discouraged from buying this product. If you have a bad back and still want to shovel, it will help. However the down fall of this product is in the strength of the plastic. Upon first use I could tell this is a product that requires a bit of care in how you use it, so as not to break the plastic handle. I took advice from someone else’s review and bought some bolts to put through the shovel handle. This helped secure it to the shovel and made it feel a lot more sturdy. Without the bolts it is very easy for THE HEFT handle to pop off of the shovel during heavy use. That being said this product reduces the stress on my back considerably, that’s 20 bucks well spent.

I just used in on @ 6" of snow instead of paying the plow guy $40. The grip part was loose around the shovel pole but that is much preferred to it being too small (in which case would not work for that shovel). To keep it from moving around the shovel pole in a circular motion or up & down the shovel pole, I marked with nail polish where I liked it positioned & used electrical tape around the shovel pole to make a tighter grip. Definitely minimizes stooping over & allows greater control so you don't dump snow while you are still over the sidewalk. It may not hold up for a strong guy who muscle throws heavy shovel fulls of snow, but if you have that much, you would probably use the snow blower anyway. I think I will prefer this stiff/solid secondary handle to the flexible steel strip type second handle of the Snow Joe Shovelution. I got one of those too but haven't used it yet.

Love the design and facilitation it offers. I live in the Sierras so one lasts almost a winter, depending. I wish these sorts of things were made more appropriately sturdy... snow and ice management is not a lightweight task.

I like the idea, and for the first moments I loved it. But then it kept falling off, and then the pads fell off, and then I had glue all over my shovel shaft. Bolting it on would likely help but I didn't sign up for a diy and the pads are messed up. Oh, and if it's on permanently it wouldn't fit by my door. Looking for other options.

I was very excited to use this product as I live in an area with heavy snowfall. The first snow came, I installed the handle, and got to shoveling. Right away I noticed a difference. It was easier on my back with this tool. Unfortunately the next snowfall was a different story. The handle grips came off as they only seemed to be attached via clear sticky pads. Reattaching them was pointless as they had already lost their stick. After that the handle kept allowing the shovel to twist in weird ways that made it more difficult and uncomfortable to shovel. This design is flawed and could be better. Very unfortunate. I would not waste your money on this item. Invest in a good shovel and snowblower, not this.

Definitely helps if you have a sore back! However had an issue that the glued on rubber grips that help hold the handle to a spade, are poorly glued on. In my case they both fell off after 4 times using this. I unfortunately lost one before I realized what was going on. Have made a new grip and used a better glue, so far so good.

Found after a couple of tries it was easy to attach to implements handle and that as claimed took the strain off my back whilst digging the garden soil. This was important as I have lower back spinal damage which when using a spade or rake starts to pinch nerves and I have to stop for a few hours.

The cheap gunk holding the rubber pads in place failed the first day.The rubber pads are the only thing securing the tool on to the shovel's handle, so its critical they stay in place.I messaged the seller a while ago, asking what glue they recommend to try to properly attach the rubber pads, and they ignored me.

After not even 5 minutes use the rubber pads are coming off. Glue is terrible.Assembly is tough too, I had to put all my weight on it to get the hole to line up correctly.Poorly designed product.
