At first it seemed not to be working. It has to be registering 32 deg to turn on. I had it switch in a protected area, so it had to get really cold to turn on. I moved it to an open area and it began to work properly. It was a good buy

Thermostat never kicks on, so if you expect these to help protect something important from freezing, look for another product.I’m using these in upstate NY where temps have been dipping into the low teens (Fahrenheit) and the thermostat never kicked on.

2PCS Thermostat Controlled Extension Cord,32°F(0 Degree) Auto On/50°F(10 Degree work perfectly for me.I ahve a couple bird baths and other thermostatic controlled plugs either would never turn on... or here in the south we can have cold nights and then warm days so they would never turn off when it is above freezingThese worked perfectly.... Yesterday night it was 26, they were on, yesterday went to 51, they turned off...And for me the BEST feature is the LED lights in either end.. so, without going outside, you can tell first if it has power (LED on the feed end is on) and when the thermostat passes power... (LED on load end turns on) so when on both LED's are on.... great!

Works well so far and better than having to run a heat tape only one out of two seem to work

I set this up outside with a drop light to observe that it worked as stated. My rating is lower because the first thing I checked was if the "stated" use of the indicator light was accurate and that it would show when the thermostat was actually open (allowing electrical flow through it). The one in the end that plugs into the receptacle, as are common on other cord-ends, usually only show that its plugged-in correctly and there is power to the receptacle. Which is what this cord does. I believe that it would need a light at the other cord-end to correctly show the flow of current through the thermostat. The on/off did work well though. The light would come on at between 41F and 44F. And go off around 45F. Any direct sun on it would change this though. Which is an important consideration when using this. I've learned by watching the white encased thermometer on our porch that when direct sun hits it, it immediately gives a false, higher temperature. So, with this this extension cord and thermostat encased in black, it's going to need to be out of direct sunlight, or it's probably going to shut off the electrical flow before the actual air temperature is heated up enough.

I've used one of these and it seems to be working as advertised.

I bought this temperature control cord for its functionality and especially for the feature "..when outlet thermostat plug working, the indicator light will light up.." as this would provide visual confirmation that the device is getting or not getting power. The first cable I ordered did not do this and I contacted customer service, who denied this was in the specs ven though I pointed out positive reviews that described this as well the listing itself. I returned what I thought to be a defective cable but the second cable was the same. Interestingly the picture in the listing removed the female plug LED feature after I had contacted support. This cable has only 1 light on the male side, NOT on the female side. Clearly seller changed the product spec but did not think it was important to change their listing.
