We have an outdoor dog and winters that can become cold. I purchased this to use with a dog bed warming pad inside the dog's house. It was easy to set the temperature in which the dog pad comes on (and stays on till that temperature is exceeded again). Has an indicator light that shows when the pad is on. Works well, easy to set. I would purchase again.

This thermostat is easy to use, install and afford. I fashioned myself a project box (see photo) to put the device in, along with a standard wall switch and wall socket plate, to power 4 exhaust fans for my attic. After setting it to turn on at 104 degrees and off at 100 degrees I tested its accuracy with a thermometer that I had placed next to it. Both the thermometer and the thermostat displayed the same Fahrenheit measure and the relay triggered correctly to turn the thermostat on and off at the right temperatures.I'm using this thermostat to trigger during excessive summer heat, but you can set it to trigger for excessive cold as well. IOW, it works both ways. I like the 1100 watt output rating and the broad temperature bandwidth (-4 through 230 degrees F). The sensor works great and is accurate and it can be placed as much as ~10 feet from the device. For the price, it can't be beat.

The controller works great! The user instructions are a little bit confusing but once you get them handled it is a snap. I used this to convert a 5.0 cubic foot chest freezer to a refrigerator. I was able to set a lower limit at which the unit turns off, and an upper limit at which it turns on. The freezer now chills to 33 degrees and shuts off for about 5 hours. When it reaches 42 degrees the unit turns on until it reaches 33 degrees. This takes about 30 minutes. ( I set the difference between the target temp and the upper limit at 12 degrees)In a 24 hour period the freezer compressor only runs a total of about 2 hours and fifteen minutesThis controller can be used to set a target cold temperature [OFF] with an upper limit [ON] this is achieved by setting the temperature difference to the number of degrees above the target temp you want to allow before it turns on.This controller can also be used to control a heating unit.I chose this unit for it's ability to set upper and lower limits.I used an a grounded extension cord to provide juice to the unit and provide the switched outlet to plug my freezer into.I like the display that shows the current sensor temp and it's status. The long sensor cable is nice and didn't require me to modify the freezer at all.GREAT DEVICE. NICE PRICE.

I bought this to replace the electronic thermostat on my small chest freezer. I couldn't find an exact match for the replacement and this one had all of the functionality I needed at a good price. It keeps me and my ice cream happy.

I'm currently using this product in a simple application to turn on garage fans when the temperature reaches 87 degrees F. They've been running almost continuously on and off for three days, so, it's getting a pretty good load test. I thought about simultaneously hooking it to a heater, but I couldn't see how that could be accomplished with this unit which only has one relay port. The instructions seemed to indicate that it could be used for that, but I think it can only be use for one or the other at any given time. I configured a standard two socket/3 prong outlet to plug the two fans into, and a two-wire two-prong plug to plug the unit into the wall. The two fans didn't show an amperage rating so I'm hoping their amperage is under 10A. I have yet to test it with an amp meter. I'm not comfortable that the screw terminators are aluminum and that there isn't a ground terminal on the unit. I don't believe this unit has any over-amperage protection on the main A/C line. The relay terminals obviously wouldn't have any protection, so I'm assuming that the 10A rating is for how much current the aluminum connectors can consume before they fry their connection to the circuit board and relay terminals. The temperature sensing resistor seems to be fairly accurate with ambient air temperature plus or minus a degree. Programming this device isn't that difficult, but takes some understanding of the concepts. Like most engineered devices, it isn't immediately intuitive. That is, it's programmed much like the first digital watches were programmed with lettering and menu functions only meaningful to design engineers, not consumers. That means one needs to keep the instructions available because in six months, changing any of the programming will require reading the instructions again. One can see the clever plastic adjustable connectors on each side of the unit, however, there are no instruction on how to mate them into a frame. Operationally, the display seems to feedback temperature information in tenths of a degree and works as it is supposed to work. The digital display is a readable size and tells me the temperature in the garage at a glance. I can see how this device might be useful for other temperature sensitive applications.

I used one of these in my SB-200 amplifier to control the cooling fans. Works great! I also have a couple of these at our cabin to control the cooler fans in my battery/electronics box for our solar system.

I have purchased two of these controllers.I installed them about a week ago, and they are working well. One thing I like about this controller, it is very quick to respond, you can hold the temperature probe between your fingers and you can immediately see the temperature start to change..One thing I don't like about the controller is when you're setting it for heating or cooling, you cannot confirm if it is set for heat or cool. However that's a small thingthe controller is easy to set up and is easy to wire. The included wiring diagram is simple, and straight forward.I like that this controller can be set for either heat, or cool.I also like the fact that the output contacts from the controller isolated.I have a couple more projects I am working on, I am sure I will buy several more of these.I wish they made a differential temperature controller.
