MIDI, short for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, is a technical standard that describes a protocol, digital interface and connectors and allows a wide variety of electronic musical instruments, computers and other related devices to connect and communicate with one another. A single MIDI link can carry up to sixteen channels of information, each of which can be routed to a separate device.

Got an Akai 1800 SD tape recorder from 1969. It again plays through my Sansui G8000 (from 1977)- yeah, I like old stuff. Thanks, Amazon.

I like being able to splice wires, rather than solder the little terminals. I intend to cut this cable in the middle and splice end wires to PS-2 type cable wires to create a DIN to Mini-DIN adapter.

Great for the price. They seem to plug in and out much better than the cheap GC brand I am replacing. Work fine and seem to be pretty well made for the price range. I got three and used them to daisy chain an FCB1010 pedal and Juno JS88 synth to a iConnectivityAudio4+ and have had zero issues with the cables. I really do like the ease they go in and out compared to other MIDI cables I've used in this price range.
