I've bought a few bows through Amazon recently, and I've been into traditional archery my whole (47 year) life. I generally prefer the greater speed and compact design of recurve bows. This type of bow I would call a flatbow and not a recurve, because the tips don't curl around so that the string lays against the limbs. A flatbow like this is usually 60" long or more, so I was delighted to see this in 54". Is the draw as smooth as a 60-incher? No; it stacks (increases in draw weight) as you draw back. But with a bow of this geometry, that's what you get. The advantage is that you can underdraw to knock targets off a fence and then retrieve your arrows without hiking a mile, or you can get a lot of power, speed and distance by overdrawing. I'm having lots of fun shooting this bow. I also love the aesthetic of this bow. The riser is a nut-brown wood with a matte finish. Classy and understated semi-primitive look, even though the bow shoots like a precision weapon. And the price is amazing!!

I am not sure if this is my fault or the companies. Firstly, the bow came quickly, and it absolutely was beautiful and shot wonderfully, with that coming from a newbie archer. The otter balls worked great too. But the problem is I owned two of these bows, and both of them broke after the first use. The first one, during initially taking it out to shoot, developed a hairline split on the arrow rest, so I figured I'd return it for a new one, given that wood doesn't mend itself over time. I was out of town and ended up leaving the bow while strung in my car, but the tension + summer heat caused the limbs to split where the glue was holding the laminate together.So I returned it thinking it might have been a production issue, but with the second bow the same thing happened. Due to circumstances, I was forced to leave the bow in my car during the work day before I could take it home (again while strung because I planned to use it later), and when I came out to my car, the bows laminate limbs had already given out.I understand you shouldn't leave a strung bow in your car, especially during the summer, but I really don't think a brand new bow should be giving out so easily for what is a standard temperature where I live (90+ degrees, central Ohio). As much as I want to keep the bow because I like it, unfortunately I can't trust the product. The glue they use likely is cheap and can't withstand prolonged exposure to heat, and I'm glad I found that out before my purchase was un-returnable. Obviously take this with a grain of salt, because other people have left great reviews and gotten lots of use of their bow. Maybe I just royally goofed up? I don't know, but I hope this was helpful!

The bow separated and broke after about 100 shots with the bow. very weak and breaks easy when string the the bow...worst purchase ever and will not be sent a knew replacement by seller....do not buy this bow!

So after having shot the bow a few times, I was very happy with the product and had a nice 30 days review to post. Over this weekend while at an archery tournament, while at full draw the bow split. I was very lucky that I or no one else was hurt. The split seems to be right at one of the layers. The bow is very lightweight and seems to fire fairly accurately. I am hoping it just a defective product and the seller is willing to replace the item since this was beginning to be a favorite.Update: The seller reached out to me and replaced my bow. The new bow is holding up well and very happy with the seller. Thank you.
