update 2022 12 06: I connected the gate opener to my lithium battery back up, and it works beyond my expectations. Apart from some issues, that do not harm in my case, the gate opener is operating well. Since the opener is commissioned in August of 2022, it operated almost 3.000 times a 1.000 lbs gate over 4 meters. There are some unexpected issues with this opener. First the manual. Drawings do not reflect the opener that was delivered. There is no wire hole in the bottom to feed the wiring into the motor compartment . The manual says there is, but believe me: there aren't. This can be considered an engineering error. The tag plate on the opener states: 450 Watt, but the ac transformer rates 220 VA (Watt): less than half of the motor power. 450 Watts require app. 19 Amps of current. The connectors on the printed circuit board are not rated for this high current and barely accommodate an AWG 12 cable. The motor in my opener has two labels: one states 120 Vac the other 24 Vdc? The opener controls a heavy gate of app. 450 lbs and the running current is app. 2,5 Amps at 24 Vdc.On the PCB there is a bridge rectifier with 4 lead. The tiny thing was twisted half a turn and the 4 leads were connecting. I saw it timely and could fix it before powering up.During commissioning the motor wouldn't run and I found that the yellow wire of the motor was not properly fitted in the connector and thus didn't make contact. The casing of the limit switches has two screws: one almost fall out, the other was also not properly tied. The transformer 220 VA is fitted straight at the base of the frame, horizontally. If any (rain) water enters the compartment the steel base on which the transformer is installed, will get wed and the transformer may get soaked. There are two tiny little holes through which water can drain out, but anything small will obstruct them. The controller needs to learn where to begin the soft stop. The first move after powering -up the gate will have a abrupt stop, after that the controller knows where to begin breaking. After a power outage, ( in case the motor is AC connected) these settings are lost, and the learning starts again, with a abrupt stop, with the first move after the outage. Here in Costa Rica outages occur the hole day on and only with a dc power the soft start and stop keep working. The only solution is to connect batteries that don't loose power. The bolts are M10. The standardized wrench size for M10 is 17 (mm). But bolds and nuts, in this case, have different wrench numbers. Not practical. There can only be a limited number of remote controls being used: 8. I my case not enough, that was unexpected. But there is a solution with an extra item.It would be a good idea to read the manual before buying.Programming DIP switch 8 is tricky. DIP switch 8 determines in which direction the gate opens. ALL drawings are seen from the inside, but for dip switch 8 the drawings are seen from the outside. So it is easy to set the switch nr 8 wrong, as I did. It would be much clearer if the drawing that explain the settings, faces outwards as all the other drawings do.Once the opener runs I love the soft start en soft stop. That work great: no abrupt start or stop, with oscillations/noise in the gate. That was the reason for me to choose this opener. Apart form all the issues that I found and had to solve so far, I expect to get a gate opener that meets my expectations. But for those who are not so technical skilled, they may find some serious challenges!

Ordered this gate opener to replace my old one. I ordered the solar version since my drive way is over 300ft. Pretty easy to install .works awesome .The awesome thing is that if you have any issues with equipment ,Heidi from their team is very smart on this and can answer any questions or issues you might have. Thank you Heidi.

Terrible product with even worse support. Just over a year old and they are junk. Probably a reason they are so “cost effectiveâ€.

The setup process was incredibly straightforward, though the instructions could be a bit more clear. I was able to get everything installed and running in a few hours without any issues, even though I’m not a professional installer. The solar power feature is a great bonus, especially since we live in a rural area where electricity can sometimes be unreliable. The motor works smoothly, and the chain drive is quiet and efficient. It handles my heavy gate with ease, and the remote control works flawlessly from a good distance. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the initial wiring was a touch tricky to figure out, but I got it figured out and everything worked great. Overall, this is a solid, durable, and easy-to-use gate opener that has made a big difference in convenience.

Installation was great! The instructions were clear and I like how it has the connection schematics for all the accessories. It makes it easy to add equipment in the future. I like the fact I will be able to add 120V electrical connections later and use the solar and battery as backups. That being said, the solar and battery provide adequate power and function to move my gate. Cons: I'd like to be able to program my auto close time withbmore granularity. I don't care for the remotes it comes with as the buttons are prone to pocket presses.Pros: quality and quantity of available accessories. Pre-wired for the wi-fi adapter but has to be purchased seperate.

Overall easy to install, program and operate. Great, timely online assistance. The additional chain size options should be variety of sizes like 5ft, 10ft instead of just 20 ft.

The TOPENS DKC1100S gate opener is one of the few solar powered sliding gate options I found. It came as a high quality product and the support has been above average. We had a long (24 ft) gate that required extra chain and we wanted to run it without any electrical attachment. The TOPENS customer service represent responded over email timely and thoroughly. We learned we needed additional chain, how to cut the chain, and how to get / store batteries to run through solely solar.
