I received this and immeadiately installed it on my Ram 3500 using an adjustable hitch. I was worried about the socket indents and water intrusion to the threads if the socket went into the threaded hole; but was relieved when I saw that the sockets have a bottom so that rainwater will not get to the threads if the 2" ball is up (it has the female socket). One caution...This works great on a higher truck like a HD 2500 or 3500, but a 1500 at factory height with an adjustable hitch could leave you with a ground scraper on slopped entrances, raised RR tracks etc. Other than that, it is a sharp looking setup with the ease of flipping it for a quick conversion between 2" and 2-5/16"! Very happy with it!

I can move my wife's trailer with our tractor then flip it over and move mine with little effort.

Hitch ball seemed very well made. Chrome finish was nice. But I could not get the ball to tighten onto my hitch. The balls will only screw together to a certain point as one acts as an acorn nut on the other. And I couldn’t use washers because the lock washer was inset into the ball. Remember the internal set screw is reverse thread (might be obvious to must)

These work great on adjustable hitches. Easy to tighten with (2) ½" square wrenches/ratchets.

Just installed mine and it was just what I needed, a single hitch with a small drop for 2" towing and slight raise for my heavy equipment. I was surprised that the double ball was so hard to find. It seems really sturdy, we will have to see on longevity.Just a note, I have a .75" drawbar which was not enough thickness to get the balls tightened. I had to use a .150" washer on each side to get a proper tighten, so I would say you need a .90" drawbar thickness. Hillman makes a 1" - .150" inch thick, grade 5 washer that fits the bill.

Everyone talks about how these fit their drawbar but I didn't read about two important things: The included lock washer fits inside the smaller ball's base, and BOTH balls have 1/2" square drive holes in the top of the ball. I used a breaker bar and a torque wrench to tighten them, and didn't need to add spacer washers as others have mentioned. If the threads are too long for you, I'd suggest carefully grinding off the end instead of adding spacers. Think carefully about torque on the threaded shaft if the balls don't seat directly on your mount.

Great balls. Easy to install. I like how the ball ends have holes for 3/8 ratchets to tighten. The price is right, too. Only complaint is that the are not marked with the ball size. I know the size, but if someone else not familiar with balls borrows my truck, they may end up using the 2" ball on a 2-5/16" coupler and end up losing the trailer.

Work great but the hitch they are for not so good together the balls come loose on the hitch

I have a drop hitch which makes it difficult to find a hitch with multiple ball sizes. This is a perfect solution and I like that I can easily torque the balls together using the 1/2" insert on the top of each ball.Strong recommendation.
