I own a couple film cameras and this works great for nailing the exposure. It's quite accurate and the images turn out pretty good. The dials make it easy to use too. It may seem a bit spendy but compared to pretty much everything else out there it's well worth the money.

No batteries included and it takes an uncommon battery at that. Why not charge a few dollars more to be able to ship a usable product? What a joke. I will update my review later if I am pleased with the product.

I still use my Nikon F3 from time to time, but my very old hand held light meter has bit the dust.I ordered this to take its place, and in that regard...well done!I found the metering to be corresponding to my built in digital meter on my modern Sony cameras. It's small in the hand and ultimately packable. In a pinch you can jam it in your pocket, it's no larger than a matchbox.Operation of the meter is very simple and intuitive. the lights with a plus or a minus sign will let you know which way you need to go to hit the green 'sweet spot' light. The settings will allow you to visually see what aperture/shutter speed will work...and to understand your options almost instantly. Why not 5 stars? It's the hot shoe clip. It works just fine and you can hear it click into place. It won't slip out. However, there is one let down. It will only lock into place on the hot shoe.I have four cold shoe mounts on my hybrid video cage, and this little gem will not lock in place anywhere but the hot shoe. My hot shoe is already taken up by my remote flash commander.I still give it 4 stars though because it is small and accurate, and I will still use it hand held. It's really a kitschy accessory, and I hope they upgrade the hot shoe clip to stay put on my cold shoes.Still...this thing is great.

Absolutely love this little meter. Fits perfectly on my old Leica M2 and with the very wide exposure sample is great for use with pinhole cameras as well.

Construction felt good. Didn't fit in the hotshoe as snug as I would like...but the thing is...I used it ONCE and when I went to use it again, it did not operate. I changed the battery and still nothing. I'd stay away from their products!

TTARTISAN Light Meter II Two Dial to Adjust ISO Compatible with Cold Shoe Mount for Speed ISO Photography (Silver) This is a very cool old school analog Light meter. It's functionality is straight forward and it's very easy to use and as accurate as any built in light meter. It does not come with a battery and it is a bit of an uncommon battery so I recommend getting one when you purchase the unit. Is it a good value? well that's for you to decide. Most cameras handle the metering for you. However I still feel like this has it's place especially for vintage camera lovers. It's cool tech from the past that can still deliver great results.

I have a Pentax K-1000 and because it's an older camera I don't 100% trust the light meter on it. This light meter simply attaches to my Pentax and easily gives me verification that what my Pentax is telling me is in fact accurate and I'm not just going to be wasting film. The unit is straightforward to use although a little bit confusing at first but that confusion irons out over time as you use the light meter. This light meter is also really nice to have in situations where the light meter on my Pentax would struggle like scenes where there is large contrast between the foreground and the background, or the sky is really bright in its dusk for example. This is just a fantastic way to verify that the light meter in my camera is working and working well. Its small size and footprint make it easy to throw into my camera bag and bring around when I am taking photos. Overall, this is a great light meter that you could throw on top of any camera in a highly recommended to especially film photographers.

Using this for a few different cameras, some modern w/excellent internal meters and some a little older w/o any metering at all. Results are fantastic. Great accuracy, great exposures across the board. The build quality is quite nice! Nice, metal housing, the foot especially is well-done and not flimsy at all, regardless of the body it's mounted on.It DOES NOT come with a battery, and it's an odd-sized one so that's a little bit to make me grumpy about it (and I did pull a star, because had it been a quick trip to the store I'd have been fine, but I had to order one).Fits great in the hand or pocket too, from time to time I'll use it as a quick-check meter when I'm on the street, then just tuck it away again.I do like it, quite a lot.
