It's really very well made and is pretty stable, bit heavy, but it's normal if you are looking for steadiness I'm, so can't complain about it! The air cushions is bit annoying but that's fine! Overall works really well with 400W strobe and a softbox!! And great thing is that the legs can be pretty wide opened, which gives additional stability! The one I bought before this I had to return because it was also good built but legs won't open wide so had less stability compared to this one!

I have Newer, Flashpoint, E-mart stands. But I love these the most for how easy they are to work with, no more screwing the knobs, air cusioning for a low price.Though I would love that they have a more heavy duty line as well as this one is light weight and portable but lacks sturdiness and height compare to my other stands

Smallrig makes amazing stuff and I have a ton of their rigging and lighting equipment. They usually make top shelf quality stuff at an unbelievable price that forces the entire industry to adapt. These stands are OK. Probably the best quality for the price on Amazon. But it's weird to me how light stands haven't come down in price and up in quality like tripods or lights have.Monfrotto is charging hundreds of dollars for a similar stand, but considering small rig's other stuff, I feel like these could easily be in the 50 dollar price range. They aren't amazingly well built or anything. They feel like they are barely enough...but that's how I feel about most light stands under $300.Anyway, good stand, I'm not going to buy anything else, so I guess there's that. But I don't feel awesome about it either unlike everything else Smallrig.

better than i thought. for reference i have a smallrig 120D with an 85cm softbox and the stand is at max height with no sign of tipping. if i had more lights i would get this again

I love this stand. It holds my light with a giant softbox on it with no issues. No need to use a sandbag. I like that is feels sturdy and it won't slam down when lowering it. Love it.

They are fairly tall even when fully broken down, so know that for storage and mobility purposes. The twist knob works to lock it, and is strong without being difficult to use or feeling like you have to crank it down. The stand is stable with a 200d light and large 40cm softbox, even without being fully extended at the base. The air cushion is fantastic for the heavier combos too, as it makes it less of a workout to get it up above your head.Only thing is like is if these somehow got smaller for storage.

Sturdy, well made and the slow-collapse is a lovely feature, I can loosen the joints with the light still on top & not worry about it smashing down. Smallrig nails it again!

This stand is great. Light, yet I feel like I trust it. It takes up a larger footprint than I expected, and it's minimum height is rather high unless you bow the legs out really widely, but I like this stand a lot so far
