even on an american standard (as basic as they get) you'll need a pair of pliers and leverage to slightly bend the arm so that it doesnt rub against inner side of tank. otherwise seems it will last much longer than the garbage plastic handle that was 10yrs old and disintgrated.

I would have to question if this is really universal as it's stated.While I was able to get it to work, it did take a bit of messing with it in order to get it to work.Just because it says "universal" does not make it so.

Stuff gets broken. Fix it easily. If you want something fancy go ahead and spend more money, but if it's a simple toilet and a simple guest room or bathroom this will work fine. There's a couple of fittings on there and if you're not sure what ones you need go ahead and check out one of the videos. I discovered that I didn't need either of the black fittings and once I figured that out I was done within seconds. It took me more time to take off the old hardware than to put this on. Good value for the money. Exactly as I expected.

The plastic is so flimsy, it broke while installing it. The handle came off, won't stay re-attached. It's not worth the $$.
