My sister got the expensive name brand one for Christmas and I laughed, thinking it was a dumb gimmick. Then I tried it and was instantly hooked. I knew I had to have one, so I looked at a bunch of them and chose this one for myself. I've been using it a few times a day every day since I got it. It might look kind of ridiculous, but it's surprising fun to do and challenging to get good at. Tip: start with small/light hits to keep the ball close and you'll improve quickly. The elastic band can fit any size head because of the velcro adjustability. My husband (big) and me (very small) can both use it. Since we require the elastic string to be a different length, though, I didn't cut it. Instead, I just tie it where I need it and pull the excess up and tuck it into the headband so it doesn't dangle in front of me.Since I've also tried the name brand one, I can tell you that this one is every bit as good for a lot less money. The balls with this set are a little bit smaller, but that's the only noticeable difference. I think this works great and even comes with 2 different balls (one a bit softer and one that's a little bit firmer) plus extra strings. I love it!

Bought these for 2 different sets of grandkids. They were able to do it better than the adults. which was good for a laugh. they got tired of them rather quickly though after a few competitions. Fun for an afternoon anyway!

Good quality, better than I thought. I didn't know if I would enjoy it at all or how difficult it might be to try to hit it consecutively. It is not as difficult as I thought and it is fun to try. My coworkers laughed at me when they first saw it, What is that?" It bouces back a little bit wierd sometimes (springs up and down and the string twists a bit) - if you hit it just right, it goes much better (and also if you do not hit it on the upper part close to where the string is attached it is better). I saw a video that teaches you to start out just hitting it low first with your dominant hand until you get the hang of it then try both hands, then try moving your feet more with it. That was helpful. Overall it is better than I thought it would be and I am not very coordinated with things like this (and middle aged). My cats liked to watch me try it.

I bought several of these for my grandchildren. The quality isn’t very good. The kids lost interest in them after a few attempts.

I picked this up as a fun way to mix up my workouts, and I’ve got to say—it’s a lot harder than it looks! I initially thought I’d be an instant pro, but I ended up getting whacked in the face more times than I’d care to admit. It’s a bit humbling at first, but after a few sessions, I started to get the hang of it.I’ve been using it to improve my coordination and reaction times, especially after realising how rubbish I was at keeping my focus during sparring practice. The black ball is definitely better to start with because it’s slower and doesn’t bounce about as wildly as the red one. Speaking of which, once you build some confidence, the red ball gives you a proper workout—my arms were aching after 10 minutes. It’s also pretty convenient to chuck into a gym bag or use in the garden when the weather’s decent. My teenage nephew had a go as well, and now he’s asking for one for his birthday. The only thing I’d say is that the headband could be a little sturdier, as it sometimes loosens up mid-session, but it’s not a dealbreaker. For under a tenner, it’s a cracking bit of kit.
