Phase Shift: Large objects made of good conductors (gold, silver, copper...) will generate very large currents, if the detector could not handle them, it will react slowly（that means. Large distance between target position and detection position）or the detector does not respond at all.
Functionality of detectors: The transmitter coil of the detector is traversed by an alternating current, which causes a ground-penetrating and electromagnetic alternating field. Any metal object in this field will be energized, creating its own circular electric currents and transmitting its own magnetic field. When the receiving coil detects it, the processor calculates information about the corresponding item and emits a signal alerting the operator.
Swing: When the hidden metal "cut" the magnetic field, it creates electric current. Make it short: you need to keep swinging the coil from left to right so that the detector could find the metals.

This is a very nice metal detector for the price. It breaks down small and comes with a carry/storage case that fits into a small area in our camp trailer. Easy to use our son was using it the first day we got it and found a few pennies in our yard with easy. I'm temped to get a second one just to store in my pickup so I have one with me any time I want to use it.The discriminator works very well, as we have used it some we can now tell what it is that we are finding and are figuring out some more of the advanced features of the metal detector. This unit even came with a small shovel for digging. The only thing I wish it came with as a pin point metal detector to help pinpoint the item once you find it with the man detector. One of the pictures is of our first search. The larger piece was tossed into tall grass to test, the other items were found in our yard.

I bought this metal detector to get back into the hobby of metal detecting now that we have a travel trailer with plans to relax in the great outdoors. I had a very expensive metal detector many years ago, but after it broke due to water damage, I never got around to replacing it. I didn't want to spend big bucks on a new one, so after lots of research I decided on this Ulhund metal detector.I haven't yet used it on camping trips, but checking out my property I am already very impressed. It seems to be highly selective with very good accuracy. It is very easy to follow my irrigation system pipes. By adjusting the sensitivity I could easily detect the location of the rebar in my concrete driveway. It has three distinct tones that clearly notify what class of metal it has found, and it's very easy to lock out classes of metal that you don't want to search for.Overall it is much easier to use than my old detector was, and I would not hesitate to let a child use it after a short lesson. It is lightweight and easy to handle, and the all-metal shaft provides reassuring strength. It's easily collapsible, although it only needs to be shortened to fit into the carry/storage bag supplied with it. You can shorten it for a child's height, or extend it enough for my 6'3" height. It even comes with a small collapsible shovel/pick that also fits in the transport bag! The instructions are well written and easy to follow. The control panel is clear and easy to read and adjust settings (see the attached photos).Although this is not a high-end metal detector, it seems better than the $600 one I used to have. Order one of these and a few 9V batteries, and you'll have everything you need for endless fun (and hopefully some treasure!) Good luck hunting!

I bought this to locate metal markets in our cemetery. It has worked great.list of the time it’s within 2-5 inches from the target. Over all it’s a good detector.

Ok for pinpointing sprinkler heads and property markers but you still need to have a rather good idea of where they are more or less. Not great depth.
