We are elderly empty nesters who should not be out shoveling ice/snow. We like these so well we now own three of them! They’re easy to manage, reasonably priced and are not horribly heavy to lift compared to the “chain together” snow mats we also own. These feature permanently attached long, sturdy electric cords. They’re durable, heat up quickly, function as intended, so easy to lift/carry, plus quick to roll up and store when not in use. Here’s how to use them successfully: as a significant snow/ice storm approaches, place mat(s) in strategic locations where you must be able to walk safely outside, such as steps and sidewalk. Tip: to cover steps/stairway, place unrolled mat rather like a plank of wood - there’s no need to fold the mat into each individual step. I use 2 bricks at top to weight the mat and keep it from sliding down a longer steep stairway. Plug in, and you will find the mats prevent snow/ice accumulation underneath as well as on top.Do unplug and remove once the storm is over, ensuring visitors won’t attempt walking on the mats. Yup, the mat surface is slippery, but keeping foot traffic off of them will also prolong their life!

I bought it in the hope that it would melt some of the ice that the town plow leaves at the end of my driveway or the ice build up next to my garage door. After about 3 1/2 hours, the end of the driveway had 2 avocado shaped puddles, both shallow. I moved it next to the garage door overnight and found so little chance in the morning that when I removed the mat l couldn’t tell where it had been. Very disappointing.

We have had a brutal winter in ny this year. I set two of these side by side on my deck under a mat. I can walk out in 10 degree weather with no shoes, the the mat is dry and warm. Keeps the ice and snow out of the walking path. I would buy these again they have held up great so far.

This product is for a roof. Do NOT USE for a walkway, deck or stairs.you will slip and fall. Extremely dangerous. I attached pics of the packaging which is only about using on a roof! Also a pic of the product in use.Yes, it melts snow as stated but is not safe to walk on

I like that this does work for snow here in the midwest. I did read all the instructions and noticed that you can't have this running 24 hours a day. So I did put this on a timer. So I do forget to unplug this it will shut off for about 4 hours then turn back on and run for another 20 hours if needed. The company says that it pulls 375 watts, so that is about 3.21 amps draw on your system. So not much if you think about most heaters in the house pull 900 watts ro 1500 watts that can be up to 12.5 amps. I also understand that this is ment for keeping the snow off your walk ways and then when done with the snow picking it up and putting it away. Yes you walk on it but it is slippery when it is wet. All in all I do like this snow mat and wish I could get a couple more to put up on my roof. But that will have to wait.

Love this thing, just note it is slippery when it is off. But we recieved 32 inches of snow in 2 days, this thing handled it like a champ! Will order more!

This mat is not good for any walkway. When wet its surface becomes like ice. I have other mats that work great and have good traction on the mats. Sadly I couldn’t get more of those so I bought this one. Description makes it look good for sidewalks and even steps but it’s worse than having nothing on the walkways. First time my foot touched it I slipped and fell as if I was on ice.

Not appropriate for Canada. Maybe if you have only a light dusting of snow it might melt.Do not use this on the ground. You cannot walk on it despite it saying you can. There is no traction and it is so slippery.

Have had it on for 8 hours, still not warm. Can barely tell if it is on. And need to pay for your own return shipping for a product that doesn’t work.
