I melt metal. Which is exactly why I bought this. But I question the accuracy a little. At one time it was reading my molten aluminum at 1400F. Well first of all it was molten so it should’ve been 1440 at a minimum, but likely it was closer to 1900-2000 because it left artifacts in my pour. That said, I checked it against my flir camera at room temps and it was dead on. Haven’t had that big of a discrepancy again since. All told, it’s a solid gun. And I’ve had it up to 2410 and it hasn’t melted or anything.

**Product Reviewed: Weaver Infrared Thermometer Dual Laser Temperature Gun****Background and Initial Impressions:**I first learned about the Weaver Infrared Thermometer Dual Laser Temperature Gun through a review by Project Farm on YouTube. He concluded that this was the best non-contact thermal temperature gun among those he tested. Based on his recommendation, I decided to try it out for myself.**Performance and Accuracy:**In my casual testing, the thermometer seems consistent and accurate. Although I don't have a calibrated thermometer for direct comparison, Project Farm's review showed it was accurate within one or two degrees, and stayed accurate through high temperature ranges, which is impressive for a non-contact device. In my experience, measuring the same object many times in a row results in the same temperature reading, with only a slight variation of about a tenth of a degree, if that.**Design and Usability:**The thermometer is comfortable to hold, and it doesn't make any annoying beeps, which is a plus. The display is easy to read, which is nice. Another nice feature is the dual laser pointers. They help in determining the exact (or close enough) area being measured, which is a significant improvement over single laser models. With single lasers, it's often unclear how wide the infrared beam is, so I'm never sure what exactly I'm measuring. The dual lasers provides confidence, allowing you to know what you're measuring.**Visual and Aesthetic:**I apologize for not having any pictures, but the product I received matches the images shown on Amazon. I think it looks good, and being bright orange I can usually find it among my garage tools when I need it.

Overall, the product itself seems well-made and sturdy. However, the laser pointers that come in handy when you’re wanting to make sure you are reading the temperature of the item in question are way off. They are nowhere near on center and as a matter of fact, they are top and bottom on the device, but at a distance, they are left and right. Don’t know if this can be adjusted, but I’m going to be sending mine back to try to get one that is more accurately Calibrated.

If you ever watch Project Farm on Youtube, he tested this among several others. For the money this came out on top. I use it to check temperature of amplifiers that I rebuild for hot spots. This works great. I absolutely love it

I checked the accuracy of this against my multimeter with a thermocouple probe that I trust. It was generally within 1.5F or so of the thermocouple's reading with E=.95 (default).Close enough for government work.It's bit bulkier than expected, but the display is large and easy to read. Some sort of soft case would have been nice.The top laser is misaligned off to the right of the centerline of the device by several degrees. I tend to take readings pretty close-in, so this isn't really a big issue, but QC seems to be lacking here.

Works and looks ok, one lazer not lined up in bezel properly, battery port spring needs to be bent in when closing or its crushed on its side.
