We have a community with sandy water, so I replace these every 3 to 6 months or so to keep out the larger particles. With these the flow was good for several months until the water flow started to slow down, but i realized it had been 8 months since I put it in. So I would say that I got my money's worth. I don't recommend keeping them that long.
