My review:This is an informed review from an aeronautical engineer, airline captain and weather instrument nutcase. I have certified weather instruments, but they are not easy to use, or handy to see at night from my bedside, hence this purchase. I repeatedly and carefully compared my certified instruments to the two units I purchased here.Background:I have replaced my cheap junk weather stations every year, or sooner, disgusted with the lack of accuracy, sick of the way both the inside and outside units would quickly break, and tired of constantly resetting the clocks.Hope I don’t need to name the cheap inaccurate weather stations for sale here on Amazon. If you’re a careful shopper you have seen them. Some might look good, but carefully check the bad reviews. Almost all of them are terrible cheap stuff that does not last, and even worse give inaccurate readings. I suggest you check the 1 Star and 2 star reviews before purchasing other units. You will notice similar trends. As for this unit, I have professional weather instruments checked the accuracies over two weeks.Review:This unit is pleasant exception to the typical, inaccurate, short lived, never-heard-of-the-brand crap I’ve encountered and waisted money on over several years. Not perfect, but it’s quite good.The setup was relatively simple, but considering it’s a complex unit with a host of features, a first time proper set up requires some time and paying attention. Read the instructions. They are well written and informative. It will take you awhile to set up because there is a lot involved. It’s worth your time to set up properly.Accuracy:It is accurate within 1 degree Fahrenheit, or less both inside and outside. Excellent.Barometric pressure is iffy, but supposedly gains accuracy after ten days. It’s not perfect, but accurate within .06 in hg. A proper setup here is important. Check local barometers on weather underground on line. Try to set it when the wind is not blowing and barometers are steady. Then leave it alone and observe the accuracy for ten days. It will get better.Moon phase is perfect.Tide is inaccurate.The clock, calendar, daylight savings time updates after midnight and resets nightly to better than 0.1 seconds indefinitely. Perfect! I checked the time on my short wave radio from the National Bureau of standards. It’s dead on. Hint: Align the unit to point sideways at Bolder Colorado for best radio reception if you encounter problems. You may need to keep it away from other electronics at night to avoid interference. A handy indicator shows if it was updated, or not.Humidity is within 07% or less compared to a professional wet bulb thermometer, which is not bad for a digital unit and better than most.The only other error I noticed was sunrise and sunset being off a few minutes. 6 minutes to be exact due to chip limitations, it resets every two weeks. Not exact, but not bad.Customer service:I initially had some difficulty with the sunrise and sunset times, but each email was answered promptly and courteously the next day with good information. I would give them an A.So far, I recommend this unit above the others on Amazon. I purchased one, checked it out and based on performance bought another.If you made it this far, consider yourself a weather nut like myself. Good luck.

I purchased this weather station last October. I was very satisfied at first. it has a nice display, easy to read, and was accurate. However, now several months later, the outdoor temperature is 10+ degrees off. I have removed the batteries and unplugged the station to reset it. Up on restarting it, it still is significantly off the actual outdoor temp. I very disappointed.Update: I contacted the company’s customer service department and asked for assistance in solving the issue of inaccurate outside temperatures. They responded by asking what I was using to determine its inaccuracy. I responded that I used multiple weather sources in addition to an inferred thermometer and I knew our location’s temperature might vary a couple of degrees from the weather reported, however, a 10 to 20 degree difference was a bit much. And that is the last I heard from them! I’ve reached out again and no response.Further update: The company finally got back to me after they read my review. There was some mix up concerning emails not received on my end and theirs. They have sent a replacement station and at present it’s works perfectly. I hope it continues that way and doesn’t go off the tracks in three months.
