Restaurants and other commercial kitchens could need a bigger size but for home use this strainer would be plenty big enough and has a straining mesh fine enough to rinse quinoa seeds without losing a single seed. Professionally designed, well made, no apparent flaws, it could work and last for many years.It has a wood handle grip fitted tightly into its framework which may or may not have had a sealant coating on it but I used a pastry brush to give it a coating of organic walnut oil which then soaked into the wood over the next few days. I have a double handful of wooden utensils and they all get oiled in that same way.

The connection between the handle and the ring holding the mesh is flimsy and feels like it would break when trying to shake excess water out of 2 cups rice or elbow pasta.Pros- Can be use to wash 2 cups of rice or beans, or drain similar amount of cooked pasta.- CheapCons- Must wait for gravity to eventually stop dripping as it can only handle very light shaking. For washing rice or beans this really doesn't matter as it means the rice just contains a tablespoon of water "extra" at the start of cooking (so remove a tablespoon of water from the cooking liquid if exact measurements are needed). For draining pasta the remaining water will water down your sauce.I have not tried using it as an improvised sifter but the flimsy handle connection doesn't seem ideal.Overall I'll keep it for washing/draining beans and rice which is why I bought it. A solid colander works better for pasta because it will take an aggressive shake (but rice would slide through the holes).

But it’s well built and simple. Holds up stronger when straining noodles than far larger, bulkier plastic models.

Fits perfect over a medium size bowl. I love that it has the two clips on the end to help it to bowl, making it very easy to use. It is easy to clean and study.

I wanted a bigger strainer like this so I can clean more rice at once because my other strainer was a little smaller for 3 cups of rice at a time. This is definitely big enough for 3 cups of rice in it but the handle feels very flimsy when holding it just by the handle with rice in it. I have to hold it around the circular part because I feel like if I don't it will break. If the handle strength was approved this would be a great product.

The strainer feels sturdy. The main body is comprised of metal and the handle is made of wood. Didn't come with any defects, works well for eggs, flour, etc. The handle stops just before the end for ease of hanging. Useful and well-made product, just as advertised.

It feels a little flimsy when you hold the handle but I haven't had any issue actually using it. Otherwise perfectly happy with it
