My daughter used this for Halloween and she got lots of compliments on the hat! The size and color was perfect and it functioned like a talking hat! Very soft and sturdy and overall an amazing hat! Would purchase again!

We had a Harry Potter themed Halloween event at work this year. We had witches/wizard hats and wands and a few other things, but I wanted something more for the kids to play with....something distinctly Harry Potter. I wasn't even thinking about getting a Sorting Hat, but when I saw this it struck me as being the perfect addition, and that was a heck of a good choice!During the event, kids enjoyed playing with all the Harry Potter things we had set up - the glasses, a golden snitch, etc. - but this hat was the star of the show! Nearly everyone tried it on and loved it!The hat is quite entertaining and the fact that it moves is amazing! Most people were pretty happy with whatever message they got, but occasionally we'd get funny reactions from people that didn't want to be in Hufflepuff or whatever it is they got.The one and only downside to this hat is that it doesn't stay on heads very well. It takes a little balance to keep it on your head, but this is understandable considering that it talks and moves. It was a small negative, but this was still much loved. Really, it was probably one of the best things we bought for the event!If you've got a little Harry Potter fan at home, or especially if you're hosting a Harry Potter themed event, I very highly recommend this!!!

Got this as a Christmas present for my daughter. It is actually made really well, it stands up and squawks, it’s not too but and it’s pretty soft, she likes to pet it. It’s not heavy at all and it looks just like the pictures. It’s not bad however this was hanging out in the box before Christmas and hidden. One night a few days before Christmas, I hear what sounds like a bird trapped somewhere coming from inside my house. This thing is flapping in its box squawking out of nowhere, it scared me! When you receive it, you should probably open it or it might turn on for no reason.
