I needed about a dozen handles for my old files but they're so expensive individually so I got this big pack. The wood isn't perfect and the metal ring looks a bit flimsy, but since I only use my files occasionally, this is exactly what I needed. Now all my files can be safely handled and used.To assemble, first, I cleaned and oiled my files, then I picked out the best-looking handles in the pack. On my work surface I took a folded cloth, put the butt of the handle on it (hole side up) and inserted the tang of the file into the hole. Holding the file, I hit the top of the file with a hammer to drive the tang down into the wood handle. I stopped when the edge of the file tang touched the edge of the metal ring on the handle. None of the handles split and they're holding tight. I have different sizes and styles of files and was able to get each of them to fit a handle. I would definitely recommend if you need handles for hobby rasps, but maybe not for hard, daily use.

It's a handle for Heaven's sake, not much more to say. You get a bag of them, medium and small.Holes to insert the files could be a little bigger - that's the four stars 'sted five.Once I tapped several files in however, they're holding with no issues. These are really only good for medium and small files. If you go bigger, you'll have to open up the hole.I've done multiple files, no splitting, no unexpected slip-outs.And, you get a big bag of them!

I love these handles. I inherited alot of files from my uncle and these handles make using them an absolute pleasure.

I had several files in my toolbox that had no handles. I bought a pack of these and the fit and function is good,no complaints

they mention they can be used for files up to 10 inches, maybe if you have really small hands. The big ones would work great for small files like for chainsaws but certainly not for a 10 inch mill file. I don't see how a 8 or 10 inch file would screw into the file collar. They are quite nice but smaller than expected. I'll toss a few in my chainsaw tool box, maybe I can use the small ones for the mini files I have. If you need handles for 10 or 12 inch files, look some place else

These are very reasonably priced. I fit these to half dozen or so files both large and small. Great hand protection especially for files used on lathes.

Not great but good enough. If you don’t have a handle on your file and don’t want to spend $10 per these work great!
